Sverige Journey

Well I have been here 7 months and I have learn about everything more than I thought I would. It’s crazy what living in the other side of the world can do. Of course is not easy all the time, I mean, specially because I came to a culture totally different from mine sometimes in every single way. People, food, language, traditions, school, etc. But I can say that every single up and down has been worth it.

I’ve made a lot of new things, and seeing snow for the “first” time counts as one of them. It was amazing! but I have to admit that now I understand why swedes don’t really like it. It can be nice for a couple of months but after a while you just want to see the sun again. And the darkness... well yeah, I hate it. It’s not nice when it’s 3 pm and you feel the need to go home (By the way, believe them when they say snow can come again even when it has been a whole week with sun and 10 degrees outside) 

I  went skiing with my host family (for the first time also) to Fjällen and it was even better than I thought. I was not an expert at all at the beginning but after some lessons and pain in my legs at least I could do it without falling. It was really fun and that was basically how I spent my sportlov. 

My swedish is going thousand times better now, I know I’m not the best and I can get a lot better but it feels good cause now i understand almost everything and I can speak a lot more. It just good to compare how my swedish was two months ago and now. Spanish and swedish are not similar and specially the pronunciation is quite hard but not impossible. It would be so cool to go back speaking a language that no one does!

Right now I am having a battle of thoughts because sometimes I want to stay here forever and sometimes I can’t wait to see everyone at home. The only thing I can say is that I will enjoy these 3 and half months left as much as I can. I am so excited to see what these months bring!

Me: It is lunch yet

Me: Why are you doing that

Me: This uniform is ridiculously uncomfortable

Me: Why are you laughing? Should I laugh too or

Me: That's actually a food?

Me: Where are we going

Me: Stop staring at meeeeeeeee

Me: I'm sorry

Me: I'm sorry

Me: I think I just learned a new word

Me: Oh my god I am so SORRY

Me: Kill me

Me: I'm hungry

Me: I love this

Me: Is it time to go home
