Events from before their respective books still happen in this make up scenario but I’m leaving out the actual dying part because they’d obviously wish to not be dying.

Mateo- He would wish for his dad to wake up from the coma. I also think if his dad weren’t in a coma he’d wish to be less paranoid. He’s very aware of how paranoid he is and how that's basically stunted his social life irreversibly, but it’s not easy changing.

Rufus- Rufus would wish for his family back, but if he aint careful they could end up with a zombie situation. I also don’t think he’d take it seriously at first. Might just look at you like you’re stupid and almost waste the wish on something sarcastic. Like Ian with the “I wish for a billion dollars 🙄”

Orion- I think he’d obviously wish for a new heart. I think he’d be aware that he needs to be careful with the wording, so instead of just having a random heart just plop down in front of him, he’ll be specific enough where his current heart is safely replaced with a new healthy one. He’s a writer he’d think of the technicalities.

Valentino- pre-meeting Orion I feel he’d wish for his modeling career to be successful or something to insure Scarletts safety, but upon meeting Orion would too wish for Orion to get a healthy heart.

Paz- I think maybe Paz would wish that he had never killed Frankie, but I think that’d go pretty badly. Like he’ll wish it and then suddenly he’s thrusted into a reality where he indeed never shot Frankie, but Frankie ends up killing Gloria instead. Unfortunately, I think that’d most likely happen since Paz would most likely impulsively snap it upon first thinking of his wish and not wording it correctly.

Alano- I think this is a little obvious but Alano would wish that he had never looked inside the vault. Maybe it wouldn’t have changed the deaths dozens fates (which is my personal belief) but some good would’ve come out of it. Those people would’ve known they were gonna die, they would’ve been able to say goodbye, death cast wouldn’t have had AS MUCH of a bad reputation, less guilt for Alano to live through, and maybe Paz wouldn’t have had to kill Frankie himself. A lot could’ve been different.

Tftdate - “I love you so much that I’m willing to let you go”

I hc in a “they both live” au Mateo and Rufus have two kids. Older sister younger brother. Adam Silvera seems to really like giving his protagonists a girl bestfriend or a sister. Anyways back to the reason of the post.

Older sister is Charlotte with Lottie as a nickname. I stole this from my tomodachi life game. I’m too attached to her. In my mind she’s level headed and shy like Mateo but is goal focused and no nonsense taking.

Younger brother is Mateo Jr the third but everyone calls him Matt. I’m making it so he has the same anger issues Rufus had as a kid (and when his dad was a kid). Kids angry and fiesty with Rufus but sweet with Mateo.

Yeah sure he could just be upset that the opportunity was taken away from him but I say shhhhh to that. I sorta theorize that he never saw kids in his future cuz he didn’t think he’d ever GET to. I think the fact that he’s gay, is so anxious and paranoid he avoids leaving the house, thinks he’s destined to die an early death, and doesn’t have any romantic history or experience makes him think he’d never be able to have them.
