Opening today! Durden and Ray presents “Antipodal,” an examination of abstraction in the global art scene. Los Angeles artists Max Presneill and Chris Trueman curated “Antipodal” from artists who, like them, are represented by TW Fine Art in Brisbane, Australia. TWFINEART is a contemporary art gallery with a roster of acclaimed domestic and international artists in a program that speaks to the global nature of the larger post-millennial art world. He relocated to southern California to attend Claremont Graduate University, earning a MFA in 2010. Trueman currently teaches at Chaffey College and has previously taught at Chapman University, Fullerton College and Santa Ana College. He has guest lectured at Chapman University, Pomona College and Santa Ana College and was a Northrup Grumman Visiting Artist/Scholar at the Museum of Art and History Lancaster. Trueman has exhibited his work in numerous exhibitions in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Chicago and internationally in Milan, Paris, Berlin, Beijing, Rotterdam and Brisbane (AUS). Recently the Lancaster Museum of Art and History presented a solo exhibition of his paintings entitled "Slipstream." His work was also included in the group exhibitions, “To Live and Paint in LA” and "The Subterraneans" at the Torrance Art Museum. (at Bentley Gallery)
