Hey Racers! With an all new Halloween event just around the corner, we have a brand new event currency for you to use and spend on some incredible rewards!. 

Good To know: The prize car for the Halloween event can only be redeemed with ghost credits (either bought or earned).

Race 59 in the Halloween event rewards you with 10,000 Ghost Credits which can be exchanged for the Koenigsegg Regera Ghost Package in the event hub. 

If you want to find out more about the new currency and what it can do, then we have pulled together some hints and tips for you below:

What are Ghost Credits?

A brand new in-game currency that will be available to earn for the duration of the Halloween event. You will be able to exchange them for exclusive items within the Event Shop from 2020-10-26 10:00:00 (GMT) until 2020-11-30 09:00:00 (GMT).

What are the benefits of Ghost Credits?

You can now have the flexibility to choose the rewards you like in the Event Shop.

What is the Event Shop and where can I find it?

The Event Shop is accessed via the Event Hub. The Event Hub will be available as a map pin from when the Halloween Event is live until 2020-11-30 09:00:00 (GMT). The Event Shop is where you can view and exchange exclusive items with the available Ghost Credits you have.

How and where can I get Ghost Credits?

You can earn the Ghost Credits by participating in the Halloween event. The further you progress, the more Ghost Credits you earn! You can also top up by purchasing Ghost Credits in the normal Shop. There will be 6 packs available.

Can I purchase Ghost Credits?

Yes, you can purchase Ghost Credits in the normal Shop to top up your Ghost Credits balance. There will be 6 packs available.

What can I buy with Ghost Credits?

You can exchange your Ghost Credits for the Koenigsegg Regera "CSR Edition" Ghost Package, Keys, Cash, Gold and Elite Parts. They are bundled into 5 offers in the Event Shop.

How many times can I purchase a bundle with Ghost Credits?

There are five offers available. The Featured Car, Keys Cache, Elite Cache and 2x Special Offers. Each offer has a purchase limit of 1.

Where can I check the balance of my Ghost Credits?

You can check your Ghost Credits balance in the Event Hub. It will be visible on the left panel. The balance will also be displayed when you are in the Event Shop on the top right corner where balances are typically displayed.

How long do I have to use my Ghost Credits?

You can use your Ghost Credits to exchange for items in the Event Shop up until 2020-11-30 09:00:00 (GMT. After that, your Ghost Credits will no longer be available.

What happens to my Ghost Credits after the event, do they expire?

Ghost Credits will disappear forever after the expiry date. Therefore we encourage you to use them up during the event!

Can Ghost Credits be used in other events?

No, Ghost Credits cannot be used or obtained in other events.

Will this type of Event Currency be available in future events?

This new in-game currency will be used for future events but in different forms and bound by different rules

Game improvements and changes

We are making updates to stop crashing, freezing, and permanent loading.

An in-game issue that was requiring some players to uninstall and re-install the game to pass has now been fixed in update 2.16. Thanks for your patience whilst this was resolved.

Recently you might have noticed we trialed a new Emotes feature allowing players to communicate with emotes as they race. We have monitored your feedback around this feature closely and we can see it has not met your expectations, nor do you see it as a priority to have. Hearing this loud and clear, we have decided to not progress with this feature. Thanks to all those who gave feedback and for helping to improve and shape the game we love!

Halloween GHOST Event

This year’s Halloween event is in partnership with Christian Von Koenigsegg, one of the most famous hypercar designers in the world.  This is a unique chance for players to explore the innovative and creative aspects of Koenigseggs history. Take part in the Halloween event to get your hands on the Koenigsegg Regera "CSR Edition" Ghost Package, then use it in the Supercar Science event! Rise up to the challenge with Christian Von Koenigsegg and earn the Jesko Absolut. The Koenigsegg Gemera is the ultimate Mega GT racer, exclusive to CSR2!

Event Currency (Ghost Credits)

A new in-game currency being introduced in the Halloween GHOST event. These ‘Ghost Credits’ will be available to earn for the duration of the event and you will be able to exchange them for exclusive items within an Event Shop. These exclusive items range from parts all the way to a car, so don’t miss your chance to get hold of a spooktacular reward!

Supercar Science: Koenigsegg Event

This is the celebration of Koenigsegg hypercars. By progressing in an exciting narrative, players will learn about the individual personalities of each car and get a real taste of Koenigsegg’s innovation. This event is action packed with some of most incredible Koenigsegg cars that have been created, like the Gemera and the Jesko Absolut, where the only place you can get your hands on them is CSR2!

Game Improvements - Fair Play and Temporary Bans:

As part of a wider roadmap of improvements to our cheater detection & banning systems, we have introduced temporary bans for some offences. A temporary ban will remove a players’ Crew RP and personal RP and they will not be able to use Chat, engage in Crew activities such as Wildcards nor race in Live Races. Players that are temporarily banned will remain in the Crew but won’t be able to earn Crew RP for the duration of the ban.

We wanted to take a moment to give you, our community, an apology. The recent 2.12 update has not met yours or our expectations. We know this is an unacceptable level of quality to release and we understand your frustration. Please be assured the team is working flat out to fix the current live issues, and to ensure a smoother game for future updates. Thank you for your continued patience and feedback whilst we take steps to make this right. 

Compensation 

We will be compensating impacted players for the poor experience in 2.12.  Most compensation will be awarded to everyone, but some will be specific to individual players related to their specific issues experienced. Any compensation will be delivered directly to the in-game player inbox. We expect all compensation to be processed by the 5th of June, 2020.

We have postponed the Lamborghini event 🛠️

To help us focus resources and stabilize the game, we have temporarily postponed the planned Lamborghini event which was communicated in our last blog here. We are allocating more resources to ensure updates and events run smoother in the future. We will update you when we have a new launch date for the Lamborghini event later in the year. We know this isn’t ideal and apologies for the disruption to your racing. Please be assured we will make sure it’s worth the wait!

We have extended some events

Due to the recent issues we have decided to extend some events to give you more time to play through them. The Hypercar Forum event will now run until 5th of June, and The Trinity Cup event will now run until 11th of June.

CSR2 Game improvement patch notes 📝

Our focus is to get 2.12 and all future updates in a better shape, to ensure you have a smoother experience in game. We are focussed on resolving the issues in 2.12. We will also be looking at future releases to ensure they deliver a quality experience as well.

Here is an update on some of the key issues in 2.12. While some of these will take longer than others to fix, we expect to release an initial set of fixes in a 2.12.1 update, sometime in the next few weeks.

What’s New 

Tuning Presets: Tuning is a big part of boosting car performance in CSR2. To make this easier, you can now save multiple tuning settings and switch between them effortlessly, giving you more time to concentrate on the racing! Please do let us know what you think of this new feature on our social channels. 

Elite Customs: Sports Cars

The third collection of Elite Customs cars is here! Take your garage to a brand new level by revamping your car collection with an upgraded take on customization and performance.

This brand new collection is focused on cars that have the potential to become the best in their tiers. Collect each car in the series and complete all Elite Customs milestones for each car to be awarded the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible. 

Good to know: This progression will apply to future collections.

The high speed competition continues with our CSR2 weekly Showdown events (Elite and Championship). To make things even more interesting we have added “Showdown Apex Cars” this will allow you to better identify the optimum car required to reach a higher level of competitiveness 💪.

In each weekly Showdown event there will be an associated “Apex Car” found in the entry requirements. The Apex Car is categorized as the most favourable car to use in the Showdown events and is likely to give you the best outcome.

The Hypercar Festival 

The Hypercar Festival is a brand new event series, consisting of 3-Events, set in the Storm Drain track, this event has been specifically designed for all those who love Hypercars, and lets face it...who doesn't love Hypercars!? 🙌. Old Shax Industries crew members, Dana and Victor Kidd are hosting a 3-part festival in the Storm Drain using a load of his cars, it’s about time you joined them to take on the competition and got involved in some high-performance racing.

Elite Showdown

Elite Showdown requires the use of the current and previous....and possibly future collections!

The events will require Tier 3 - Tier 5 Elite Custom cars only with the event taking place over a HM distance. The Elite Showdown will offer higher rewards on currency and parts to support the current Crew Championship season. 

Championship Showdown

Championship Showdown requires the use of the previous Crew Championship car and/or Prestige Cup car (Tier 3 - Tier 5 only), alongside additional competitive cars to enter the event.

The Championship Showdown event is where you’ll be able to gain the most Crew RP from Milestone and Leaderboard rewards, along with the rare Elite Custom parts. 

In addition to the Elite and Championship Showdown events, we will continue to run ‘special’ Showdown events that support our general event cadence and special events. Keep an eye out for these special events to earn further rewards and parts.

Drum roll please …🥁, we wanted to introduce a new event which you will be able to enjoy every two seasons 🙌

Top tip: This event should be useful to all those looking to progress further in Legends giving you more opportunity to earn additional Fusion and Stage 6 parts.

A Special Showdown that highlights the rivalry and competitiveness of Ford versus Chevy highlighting the competitiveness of the Ford Cobra Jet and Chevrolet Camaro COPO. The Showdown follows individual PvE events that take place for each of the cars.

Test your skills and race on our brand new British 🌧️ weather ☂️ themed track to earn an exclusive prize car! It’s time to get your hands on the fastest McLaren in-game - 🥁 the McLaren Speedtail!

This wet and British event consists of 6 high-speed events, each one requires a 2 car lockin and will feature a 50 race ladder. ✍️ One thing for all players to note, though not compulsory PROLOGUE events do reward cars and S6 parts required to participate in the main event. A different car will be required for each PROLOGUE event.

The Lamborghini Siàn 🤩 Special Event 🤩

At the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show Automobili, Lamborghini unveiled the Lamborghini Sián! A hybrid super sports car delivering new technologies and unsurpassed performance in the hybrid sphere. 

We are excited to announce that this will be coming to CSR2 for update 2.8.0. If you take this car on the track make sure you upload some of your race footage on social with #CSR2. We want to see this magnificent car from all angles and will be sharing our favourite shots! 📸 #CSR2 📹

SEASON EVENTS WITH A TWIST

2.8 Showdown 🆚

We've been looking to see how Showdown fits into the current event cadence in CSR2. To support this we’ll be trialing a series of Showdown events that utilize the Prestige and Crew Championship cars, as well as additional sources of Crew RP. 

Prestige Showdown 🏁

Prestige Showdown events will run the first week of a new season as a replacement for the milestone leaderboard cup with the same entry requirement (previous seasons prestige car). In addition, players will have the chance to collect parts for the current Prestige Car before the Prestige Cup goes live. 

Championship Showdown 🏆

In a similar cadence to the Prestige Showdown, we’ll also be running Championship during the second week of the Crew Championship season; these events will support the entry of the Crew Championship and Milestone car collected from the previous season.

PP and EP Restrictions 📝

In the 2.8 release, we’ll also be testing new event entry requirements, PP and EP restrictions. Along with more targeted car entry requirements during the Prestige and Crew Showdown events, we’ll also be testing out these restrictions to understand how our fans (players) compete when adapting to different tuning and upgrade settings.

We have been closely monitoring your feedback to look for ways to improve our Showdown events. Here is a list of the issues raised and how we plan to work on them:

New restrictions for the matchmaking funnel are coming soon - including Maximum PP!

Connection issues are being investigated - please share any information with customer support and @CSRRacing 

We continue to identify exploits & hacking methods

A fix is in place to resolve trophies displaying incorrectly

The future of Showdown 

We will be unlocking more  Showdown Beta events during this update to give you a chance to play and give valuable feedback to our social channels before it is fully launched. The Beta events will test different aspects of the feature so expect to experience different race modes, gas costs etc. The Showdown Beta races are a great way for you to earn extra rewards and rack up some race experience whilst taking on real opponents on the track!
