Finally finished my plein air Gouache page. It mega hard but so therapeutic. These took me forever. I think i noodle too much. I need to learn to commit and not fear messing up. My favorite thing to do on the first page of a sketchbook. I feel like it takes the pressure off and helps me actually want to use it. Oh and HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR everyone!!!!!!! I've been thinking a lot about Fear in my life and I have come to the realization that I have quite a bit of it. It hides in my relationships. Dances around my insecurities. And has taken root in my art as well. Take this piece here... I drew the rough sketch 3 days ago and since then I just sat and looked at it everyday fearing inking it because I didn't want to mess it up. So for 3 days I didn't draw anything else instead I just looked at this one working up the courage to try to do Something with it. So tonight I did and I'm glad I did. I gathered my courage and did something. It was freeing to work on something and not worry about it's outcome. I don't hate it and I guess that is a start. I want to be more brave in my life and I'm going to start with my first love art. Does your art ever scare you sometimes?
