one time my mom and i watched interview with the vampire and as i was putting it on she goes "you know this is an example of the mandela effect right? it's supposed to be interview with *a* vampire" and i was like "woah that's crazy"

i have always loved the film version of interview with the vampire but reading the book i think it's really missing a lot without louis and claudia's encounters with the mindless feral vampires of eastern europe. it makes sense to cut for a movie's runtime, like i do think it's fair to prioritize the paris coven, but i do think it kind of diminishes like, the hopelessness of their search for answers leading up to it to gloss over the fact that their first meetings with other vampires than lestat were basically violent encounters with wild animals that couldn't have told them anything if they'd wanted to, idk
