Crowned In Grey

Arya watches in wonder as the dragons fly by. It's a sight she had never expected to see. After all, dragons had been extinct until Daenerys had brought them back. And here she is, a warrior-queen like Nymeria. But still a regular queen. Still a person.

Arya senses that Daenerys fears more than she lets on. But who doesn't? Arya herself doesn't have many fears. From her perspective, she's already gone through the worst. But that doesn't mean she doesn't understand fear. That, she does. She understands what causes it and why it's so hard to conquer at times.

Fear doesn't make anyone less brave. In fact, her father would say it makes them more brave to conquer their fear, and keep going. And Arya would agree.

So she smiles brightly at Daenerys as she walks by. She doesn't attempt a curtsy. That is something Arya never had quite perfected, nor will she ever. But she nods in respect at the queen. And says: "It's a pleasure to meet you, Your Grace."

THERE'S A CHILL IN THE AIR , although that was to be expected. the north was far from warm , and the queen had prepared for it. yet , as prepared as she had felt when approaching the north , she now felt rather out of her depth. HER DRAGONS FLEW OVERHEAD , picking off whatever wild life remained , she supposed - although she had jorah keeping an eye on things , just in case. even with them above , she felt smaller here - scared as she had been before her dragons had hatched.

Arya is glad to see Daenerys. How could she not be? A woman bringing dragons to life again is a wonder. And who doesn't love a wonder? Arya knows she does. She admires Daenerys. How could she not? She is making her own way in the world, and in a world that tries to train that out of women, that is to be admired. At least, that's how Arya sees things.

When she is called 'Lady Stark', Arya can't help but giggle. She's never been quite like Sansa, all manners and courtesy. Though that doesn't mean she lacks either. She simply finds the truth equally important. Still, she's hardly a 'Lady,' as far as she can tell.

"You can just call me Arya, Your Grace."

She says with a bright smile. When she's asked about her sword, her smile turns into a proud grin. She's still rather fond of Needle. Her brother Jon had given it to her, after all. How could she not love it? It reminded her of family and home when she had been far away from both. It had helped her survive more times than she can count. And for both of those things, Arya is grateful.

"Its name is Needle."

“I feel you’re going to pull over and snuff me.”

“You’re kidding me with the hand up, right?”

“Oh no! Did they rope you into this?”

“You are not authorized to access this area.”

“I do anything and everything that [name] requires, including, occasionally, taking out the trash. Will that be all?”

“What are you trying to get rid of me for? What, you got plans?”

“I don’t like it when you have plans.”

“For three hours. For three hours you got me standing here.”

“I told you, I’m not mad. I’m indifferent, okay?”

“You don’t respect yourself, so I know you don’t respect me. I respect you. I’m just your babysitter. So, when you need your diaper changed, let me know and I’ll get you a bottle, okay?”

“Is it better to be feared or respected? I say, is it too much to ask for both?”

“I couldn’t sleep ‘til I found out how it went. How’d it go?”

“I wouldn’t do that if I were you.”

“What the hell did you do to me?”

“Do you understand me? Do as I do.”

“Is this the last act of defiance of the great [first & last name]? Or are you going to do something about it?”

“Relax. I have steady hands. Why do you think you’re still alive?”

“So you’re a [man] who has everything, and nothing.”

“Why have you failed me?”

“Stick to the plan!”

“Don’t waste it. Don’t waste your life.”

“Well, that… uh, that went well.”

“Did I just paint a target on the back of my head?”

“Could you have a lousier poker face?”

“Listen to me, [name]. We’re a team. Do you understand? There’s nothing we can’t do if we stick together.”

“We’re gonna have to play a whole different kind of ball now.”

“How big are your hands?”

"I never had the honor of meeting Prince Viserys, but I was... quite close, with your oldest brother." Close was an understatement.

Straightening a little, Lyanna collected herself.

Daenerys says with a smile.

Sadly, she had never gotten the chance to meet Rhaegar. But she had heard good things from Ser Barristan. He had compared her to Rhaegar in a positive way once. And she had always been flattered by it.

"Oh?" She is surprised to hear the woman say that she had been close with her oldest brother. Daenerys had thought everyone who was had tragically already met their demise. But apparently not.

"A pleasure to meet you, as well, Lady Stark. If you would not mind, I would love to learn more about my older brother. As you know, I never had the chance to meet him."

 it  did  make   sense.   the  dragons  would  know  the  scent  of  their  own  kind.  he  was  technically  one  of  them,  a  dragon  disguised  as  a  human.   it  may  not  make  sense  to  the  dragons,  but  his  scent  will  help.  caspian  fixed  his  hair.   his  eyes  flicked  to  that  of  a  more  reptilian  like  color,  a  golden  lizard  eye.   he  smiled  a  little  to  show,  what  he  was  saying  is  true.   ' my draconic scent may not make them hostile, or territorial, but i hope they can trust me.' he says to the queen.

the  draconic  king's  eyes  reverted  to  their  regular  color.   a  dark  brown.   “   though  i  do  not  think  the  other  kingdoms  are  too  kind  to  most  strangers,  unlike  you.”  he  says.  caspian  kept  a  respectful  distance  from  dani.   he  could  fly,  and  leave,  but  he   chose  to  not.  he  wanted  to  learn  more  about  the  country  that  is  called  WESTEROS.     

IT  LOOKED  DANGEROUS  WITH  MANY  CASTLES  TO  VISIT.

"It probably depends on the kingdom, and its rulers." Daenerys says with a chuckle. She is glad that he sees her as kind, though. She does try her hardest to be kind. As she knows how hard it can be to be treated unkindly. She wouldn't wish such a fate on her worst enemy. And she has many enemies, but she still wouldn't wish bad things such as that on them. As she rather thinks that would say a lot more about her than it would them.
