von karma and i are basically the same person, guys, trust me on this.
and what if my skills exceed yours? I jest. With your experience in sampling a wide variety of deserts and sweet treats, are there any in particular you'd recommend to the untrained palette? Any favourites you think should be more popular than they are?
of course you jest, that's impossible.
i think a good pancake or crepe is very slept on. nevermind the bashing i get on social media for my... missteps regarding them, they are a nice treat i indulge in from time to time.
italian gelato is also very good. i particularly enjoy the pistachio and coffee-based flavours.
recently, i've been interested in filipino treats like turon (a kind of banana spring roll?) and halo-halo (a mix of a load of different ingredients like ube, ice cream, cornflakes, gelatin, etc), i trust that these will grow in popularity overtime, thanks to ube currently trending alongside matcha.
however, for those struggling with budgeting issues, i actually recommend home baking! even if it doesn't come out world-class, the effort and care you put into a baked good often (metaphorically) sweetens it by a lot. just make sure beginner bakers follow a recipe exactly before trying to modify it in any way, to avoid unfortunate mishaps.
admittedly i forgot what this was. some sort of apple and apricot crumble, i think.
the overall taste was alright, but it had no variation throughout the dish. the crumble was a bit chewy(...) which was a bit odd but that may have just been because of the moisture from the fruit filling.
apologies for the short description, but it really did not strike me as special in any way. it was edible, though, so it gets a 5.5/10.
The pictures you took on your walk makes it look like a fun place to explore. Do you enjoy walks in forests over the city? Or have any usual haunts?
it is quite a stimulating experience, anon, thank you. i enjoy both the city and less developed areas, but as i've almost completely exhausted the city of new places to explore, the ever-changing landscape of the forest is nice. i liken it to mementos, which i used to escape the public eye before its disappearance.
nowadays i don't stay in one place for so long like i used to, but i do sometimes find myself waiting resting outside penguin sniper in the evenings. i also continue to go to jazz jin regularly.

went for a walk.
the summer heat has thankfully abated for a few days where i am. i've been holed up feeling sorry for myself during the heatwave.
Heya, me again. I've always wondered what your biggest dream is? Like the kind of dream you do when you win the lottery.
i didn't really plan my life ahead of shido's fall, and since i both died and didn't even carry it out, my one real, achievable dream has gone... well, unachieved. i've never envisioned winning the lottery before. well, maybe i've won something on a scratch card once, but that was probably used to buy necessities or treat sae-san to a meal for once.
even when i was brought back thanks to the good doctor's meddling, i wasn't sure if i would live long past january and didn't bother getting my hopes up.
if i won the BIG lottery, i still don't know what i'd do. maybe keep it in a swiss bank somewhere and only use it to sustain myself (like that guy in octopus games, but not being weird and storing it in a hotel room). maybe i'd give freely to the poor like a real philanthropist. i don't know.
Hehehe your name is crowgorp which sounds like kogoro the character whom goros based on hehe
that's what i was going for! thanks for noticing.
edogawa's iconic detective was definitely a figure i based my own detective image a little bit off of. even now, i still find myself enjoying his books and wishing i could have been a similar hero.
my brunch. i sent this to a friend before posting it here and she asked if i was poor and needed money...
this is a packaged coconut macaroon about the size of my palm, if a little bigger.
for a packaged good (and a gluten-free one at that), it was surprisingly well-made. it was not dry and while the flavour was not totally 'coconut', it was a vague but pleasant sweetness.
7.5/10. i do wish it was more coconutty, if only so that it would be true to its labelling.

There it is! I knew you had a smile in you, detective âĄ
so what if i do? you're such a sentimental fool, joker. you're truly...
completely, irrevocably...
infuriating!
Awww, I thought you liked it when I was infuriating... :(
don't flatter yourself. i'd much rather spar with a worthy rival than entertain this... nonsense, with you.

Hello hello detective, I was wondering what you were planning to do in the distant future, perhaps move to a town far from the city?
i am definitely in favour of moving somewhere quieter, now that i have no longer have any obligation to stay in the city for business. i've heard hokkaido is lovely, but as the detective prince is nonexistent, i have no source of income to fund any idea of relocating.
tokyo isn't so bad right now anyway. it's familiar, i suppose, and the chances of meeting anyone i wouldn't like to are slim.

Heya, I've always wondered what you feel about spicy foods. I've grown up with them, so it's my favorite/norm, but how are they to you who I assume isn't used to it?
(P.S. Yes, I'm asking because of the Russian Teriyaki incident.)
that.... oh.
that russian-roulette-hell-on-a-stick simply caught me off guard! if i had known it was that spicy, i would have been able to mentally prepare myself and thus truly be the picture of calm (personally, i think i did a great job at looking calm back then too...).
in normal situations, i wouldn't ever order spicy food for myself. it's a load of work and pain that doesn't equate to anything (sound famililar?). my palate is geared more towards mild and delicate flavours. popular desserts and snacks are hardly ever truly spicy anyways.
however, if i was starving and the last thing on earth was spicy or if a friend made something spicy for me, i'd suck it up and eat it.
tldr: i tolerate them but they would not be my first choice to eat. or second choice. or third...
do you make your own meals? đ
yes, sometimes. eating out every day is a luxury most cannot afford in this economy, after all.
i learned to make instant noodles and the like when i lived alone as the detective prince, but an old acquaintance of mine taught me the basics of cooking after that.
the photos i post on this blog will always either be my own creations or things i ordered out.

akechi how do you feel about pineapple on pizza? đ¤
a chinese-inspired dish created by a greek canadian, yet called hawaiian pizza.
it's not that good, but it isn't that bad, either. vehement pineapple on pizza haters are just as annoying as those who openly enjoy it.
overall, it's quite a baffling invention that i prefer not to bother myself with. a good pineapple on pizza would be rated a 6/10 at best from me.
my breakfast. its face is neutral because it has nothing to smile about in its short life.
comprised of greek-style yogurt, blueberries, sugar syrup, and some sweet cereal.
7/10. i think i could have added more blueberries, but it would have ruined the face.
