âAh, right! Look it up online!â It was part bad habit to try acting like he was the sole one giving orders around here, and also part being thrown into a tizzy (they just NEEDED to have the ingredients, there was probably no time for the alternative case, else the client would find out his cake had become food for the floor).
His eyes, which settled from his companion to the oversized bowl in front of him, darted back to cautiously look at SerizawaâŚbarely in the corners of his sight since Reigen wouldnât fully turn his head while saying this, âIâm not asking you as your boss for help.â
Itâd been the doing of Reigen and the clientâs evil spirit that resulted in the crash. Being in the clientâs house with the resulting disaster had nothing to do with Serizawa and-âŚwell, Reigen believed Serizawa wouldnât abandon him, but Reigen had to be prepared to face his mistakes himself, âso I want your answer whether youâre sticking it out or not. âBefore you find out whether we have all the ingredients,â he finally leveled his gaze to meet Serizawaâs, evidentally finding his confidence in something or other. âIf your answer is dependent on that, then youâre not really caring whether the client gets his cake back or not. Personally, Iâll make him a damn delicious cake out of vegetables if I have to! You know what Iâm saying?â (Reigen didnât even know what he was saying, he THINKS there was a cake that had carrots or something in it).
Serizawa did not know what Reigen was saying.
But in his time âworking forâ the other man, heâd grown to trust him very much. He was starting to question some of Reigenâs more... unorthodox methods, but at the end of the day Serizawa believed, in a way that was simple and unshakable, that Reigen was a respectable person. Their clients almost always left happier, even if theyâd never had a haunting to being with.
Serizawa glanced between Reigen and his phone a few times and then finally lowered it.
â... R-right,â he said. âIâm with you. Of course. Ah, we donât really have to make a vegetable cake though, do we? That sounds awful.â
He looked around at the ingredients that were piled haphazardly on the counter... Surely they could at least make something out of it? Flour, sugar... Those seemed like the most important bits.
Vaguely he wondered what Reigen had meant when he said he wasnât asking for help as his boss. They didnât usually call each other friends out loud but... surely at this point they were.
Serizawa smiled a little, his confidence growing. âIâll follow your lead!â he declared.
