Would you let me cook for you?: Listen. If you can cook, we don’t need to acknowledge the previous one. HOWEVER. Other than in a life or death situation where we’re starving together, I’d cook for you in return for you cooking for me. So an equal exchange of sorts. You could say it’s just about fairness and equality except it isn’t inherently equal. Or fair, though I don’t think I’m THAT bad at it!!!

“Do you really think I’d spend Valentine’s Day watching tv? Lame-o.” She scoffs at the mental scene. As romantic as snuggling up with someone in the winter’s cold could be, a television’s blaring sounds and aggressive images only tarnish the daydream. “It’s not like I’m planning on making out either. Isn’t this some kinda consent form? ‘Check the box here to opt-in to potential make-outs if the mood is right’!” He can’t possibly think the intent was to pencil-in a little bit of mouth-to-mouth action in their daily planners. He isn’t even answering the questions. She wonders why he bothered to fill out the form in the first place. “Serious applicants only,” she ought to have specified—like a job listing.
“Way to enforce gender stereotypes, dude.” Her nose wrinkles. “I gotta be the one cooking, ’cause I’m a domestic goddess, right? You have to be able to cook. Live on your own, don’t you? How else is your body gonna get fuel? I’m actually a fantastic chef, but if you won’t even think about cooking for me, we’re gonna have a bad time. Picture these big brown eyes looking up at you with admiration for the bountiful feast I’m about to receive. Don’cha want that memory seared in your retinas?”
He truly, tragically, inconceivably doesn’t look good on paper. And yet—
“Oh, whatever! Accepted! Been years since I had a good massage.” They’d need a whole evening to work out all her kinks.

Early offices hours. Hours before two thirds of the people were supposed to be in. Aka IT WAS JUST SUPPOSED TO BE REIGEN!! He squawks when the door opens up, tissue still being dabbed at his eyes. He'd poked his eye earlier but was sure it definitely looked like he'd been crying over something else!!
In the moment, he can't even process the distant feeling that he might have told Serizawa to show up early. But if such a thing had happened, it had happened BEFORE THE ACCIDENT!!

Part of her wasn’t surprised things had gotten this bad; Jihiko knew all about the things in this world that were dangerous and scary. After all, to most people, she is one of them. But she shakes that thought off and gives him a smile, worry crossing her face for a moment. She’s a good judge of when people are tired, comes with the territory of working twelve hour shifts.
“I’m fine. I am. There’s been a few of the attack victims brought into the hospital and people are talking but I suppose that’s normal. Someone said it was aliens.” She laughs, a little shaky but there.
“But yes, I do live here,” she says, pointing off into the distance. Her apartment building isn’t visible from here, not by a long way. “How about you? Are you doing alright?”
To still be oblivious about what she was. He stocks that passing moment up to any myriad of thoughts or considerations she could have had, not all related to the current issue but some people think about the most mundane things when stressed, he wouldn't judge! So it's not noted as important.
"Hm, we all would like some normalcy I'm sure, even if that means gossip or conspiracy theories.. Weird part of human nature!" Reigen chuckles back, not denying that it also meant it was in HIS nature as well to have tossed the same crazy ideas around in his mind. Rubbernecked. Read online posts. "Can't be the aliens though, they're decent folk." No elaboration.
"..Actually? We're practically neighbours, I live that way too," and he points in the same direction, albeit he believes it can't be THE SAME apartment complex. He probably 'dwells' on that more than he would have if Jihiko didn't ask how he was, looking just a little stupid as he stared in the direction of their housing. How was he?? Tired??.. "Haven't encountered anything myself. Does that mean I'm doing pretty good so far?" He grins after a second. Please tell him he joke his way out of this one..!!

"Oi...So there's this dog.." Reigen begins. He needs to keep it together and NOT let his excitement show through his voice!! Despite his smile, as he'd dialed Charlotte up so obvious physical tells like that were fine!
"Do you have anything that's dog friendly?? That can be delivered, uh, I'll throw a tip in!" He winces immediately. A tip! The lost looking doggie in the park is just TOO CONVINCING and it's only going to end in his wallet being hurt!!! He's sure this park isn't too far from her business, hence a major part of why he called her, but also..he needs someone reasonable who won't allow him to try keeping the dog. It obviously isn't a stray given the small rainboots it's wearing in lieu of a more reasonable identifier, like a collar..

Adapting to an organization of over the top villains giving their shot at commandeering the ENTIRE WORLD is one thing. But this is more realistically brutal than that and though he'd tried to make light of one aspect of it, there really was nothing to laugh about.

“Seems like ya got one two many screws loose since we last met.” The half human snarked, making note of the sign that was attached to him. Why would any normal person want to take him seriously? Well...unless they believed in the supernatural which not many people did.
“Good luck finding someone ta help ‘cause it ain’t gonna be me. Smell ya later!” The ginger burst into laughter, giving him a wave goodbye as he went about his way.
"Now that's an overreaction if I've ever seen one. Not every public announcement is personally directed to you, you know that, right? Don't need to tell me that you can't be of help," he scratches the inside of his ear: more preoccupied with that as he trails off, weirded out. At least giving the illusion that Reigen doesn't recognize Max or his abilities, though it's hard to say whether that's the truth or not.

If Dimple was typing, then he was sparing no words. "Where exactly did you see the spirit?" He yawns somewhere in there, hand coming up to cover his mouth but making a halfhearted job of it.
For a moment after, he just stares at Dimple. Even more evidently now, Reigen wears the expression of an ongoing battle between giving in and shutting his eyes and feigning alertness... Finally, "You're not a dog, no doubt about that." And THAT anticipated comment was a Reigen specific insult.
"ANYWAYS, asking about baby supplies wouldn't make sense. Have you ever seen me with a child?.."
"... Finished typing yet?" He kept as good a poker face as he could. Considering the prospect of one day being a parent (as he's considered for a few years now) was just another thing he didn't need Dimple knowing.
Reigen hates the sudden thought of Dimple as the godfather to his kid but alas, he can't even express disgust since he wasn't supposed to be thinking anywhere along those lines right now!!

Otherwise, the streets aren't that busy since it rained recently and is a cold grey-blue colour all around. Even if Max tries to ignore him, it seems likely Reigen will leap at him. There's certainly no other takers on his job offer.
