i have a recurring dream that i live in venice beach. there are a few things that remain the same each time i have this dream and a few things that are different. things that are the same: i'm walking my dog to the shore the sun is out and it's a perfect summer day things that are different: my footwear the number of dream guests (people that appear in the dream) what the ocean water is instead of just water in my most recent dream, i'm wearing fuzzy socks with flip flops. my socks are striped. my flip flops are purple. we reach the beach and walk up to a flight of stairs that lead up to a pedestrian bridge which is parallel to the ocean. essentially this bridge is pointless because it doesn't actually lead anywhere. it only allows you to not walk on sand for about 50 feet. but when we walk to the stairs, i realize that the ocean water has covered most of the sand and is dangerously close to reaching the boardwalk. the ocean water is also not ocean water, but instead the fluffiest snow ever. i reach down to remove my fuzzy socks and my feet feel immediately colder. the moral of the dream: don't wear fuzzy socks and flip flops in public.
