I'm not a painter, but I can picture you and me together.
"— As travelling companions?"
Don't frown. You never know who could be falling in love with your smile.
"But I can't smile on command..."
I was trying to daydream, but my mind kept wandering.. so I followed it, and here I am.
"Why would it lead you to me...?"

What an unusual answer — although Frioniel couldn’t blame the older man for an unfortunate luck. To the youth, it seemed that the mysterious man had amnesia, although he didn’t seem interested in finding his own name.
“You…don’t remember where you came from, either?” he asked, sounding a bit concern, even for a man he had just met.
Something made Kain feel bad for lying to this young man. They did not know each other, and yet the dragoon was hit with that inebriating aura that Cecil and Rosa gave off so many times; the one that brought him to his knees every single time. So he relented— there was nothing else he could have done.
“…’tis not that I cannot remember. Rather, I choose not to remember.” ‘I hardly have the right,’ he thought to himself soberly. His was a name of pride and triumph, and he would have to earn it back… or die trying.
Choose not to remember. That was something Frioniel had not known about. He figured others would prefer to rememeber -- to keep what memories they had. But this man? He was different, and it interested the youth somehow.
"Why not--?" Oh, he probably shouldn't have asked. It was none of his business, but it was an urge that made him forward with his question. But after realising it, he quickly uttered a small apology.
Speaking of adventures, Guy popped up in Frioniel’s mind. Another good friend of theirs who was probably back in Fynn, helping the queen. The youth could only hope for his friend’s safety. And so he couldn’t let the chance to ask a question slip by.
“Hey — Maria? Have you seen Guy on your way here?”
She shook her head in response at his inquiry as she had no such luck in seeing her friend. It was highly likely that Guy could still be in Fynn helping with the efforts there, though it would have been nice to have some word if he was okay. Of course, she did wish that one day he would find his way into this town and meet up with them as well.
“I have not seen him during my travels here.” She explained. “In fact, I was hoping that you may have seen him. I do hope he is okay though, it has been a while since I have heard from him last.”
Frioniel shook his head. "I've not seen him since I've left Fynn. Maybe we are the only ones travelling this time."
Surely Guy was safe. He was a brother to the silver-haired teen, and Frioniel knew his non-blooded sibling would be all right on his own. He has that certain survival instinct. At the same time, though, the freelancer missed his dear friend almost as much as he missed Maria.
"-- I'm sure he's fine," he said with a smile.

“Hey!” the blond greeted loudly. It was nice to have someone to talk to since he hadn’t interacted that much with people today. He thrived on being social, so the turban-clad man was a breath of fresh air for the blitzball player.
Frioniel felt relieved for meeting such a cheerful stranger. It was nice to see people like that, although this one was quite a loud one.
“I am Frioniel, and you are?”
“Call me Tidus,” the blond replied. He couldn’t help but admire the fancy scarves on Frioniel’s head, feeling that it suited the other man quite well. However, his curiosity was elsewhere, and he just had to say, “Frioniel, huh? That’s an interesting name.”
"Tidus, then," he nodded. "Yours is interesting too."
This blond youth seemed so bright and friendly -- perhaps he was from a good place. Perhaps he wasn't, but was just an optimistic boy from the start. Frioniel felt that he needed to find out more.
"Where are you from, Tidus?"

“I only pray so…” She answered, her thoughts lingering on her brother. She knew that Frioniel tried his best to lighten the mood, and she did appreciate it greatly. But even though she tried to keep her worries at bay, they would still remain until she saw her blood brother safe and sound again. Besides, she was happy to know that at least her other brother was safe and that made her feel a tiny bit better about the situation.
Hoping to help lighten up the situation, she gave a small smile in return. “If not, we will continue to search for him by any means. Though, I am thankful to see that you are okay.”
Searching would mean they were at least doing something to ease their troubled hearts. They could wait for their dear brother, but they have waited long enough. Perhaps a little journey is an order.
“You don’t have to search for him alone,” he said, trying to reassure her some more. “We could go look for him together.”
She gave a nod at his suggestion, agreeing with his words. For so long she had to search for them by herself and constantly wonder if everyone was okay. But now that she had one of her brothers back, her worries eased a bit and she had more hope in continuing the search. Her smile grew at that, as she could always trust Frioniel to reassure her even more. She truly did miss that during her searches since she could only stay optimistic for so long.
“You’re right.” She said. “Now that we have found each other again, we can both go and search for him. Besides, I think we are overdue for another adventure together. We can probably cover more ground in finding him this way and catch up with each other.”

”..Hello,” Kain greeted the youth suspiciously. He could tell that this was a man who was good in a fight, and yet there was a certain kindness radiating from within. It was an interesting mix that reminded the dragoon very much of someone close to him. Hence his curiosity and the drive to sate it now. ”What is your name, and from where do you hail?”
He was slightly startled by the sudden greeting at first. Frioniel had not notice the man before, and when he heard the small ‘hello’ he didn’t know where to look. But here he was, the man was nearby, watching him cautiously.
“Hello…,” he greeted back, looking slightly unsure. The question he received made him feel as though he was being investigated, checking to see if he was trustworthy. It was the way the taller male approached him with a cold gaze to follow suit. Or perhaps this was simply the man’s normal expression.
“I’m Frioniel, and I hail from the town of Salamand. — What about you?”
Salamand— an unfamiliar name, to be sure. This was another from an unfamiliar land, but what did he expect? Perhaps it was Kain who had wandered to somewhere he did not belong. It was not something he would rule out. The right corner of his lip twitched— a scowl, a frown, a mark of his thought. He crossed his arms, regarding the other carefully.
“Interesting.”
This was his only reply at first. Finally, his eyes stopped their searching. His ears stopped their straining. He was now confident in the presence of the youth, at least for now. Still…
“My name is of little consequence, and I cannot remember it anyway.” A lie, of course. But it would hurt nothing for now.

Been a while, hasn’t it lad? -lets go, grinning playfully-
It certainly has. I do hope you are not fooling anyone into going to your ship for free, are you?
