They were, said god just so happened to be their father, but this human didn't seem the type to believe. Most didn't except for a few subset of individuals that still worshipped the ancient gods. There was a god living in Yokohama, they'd seen his altar && a small part of their brain itched when the thought of him, but he was not the one in front of them.

❝ Chuuya, ❞ they repeated the name with a hint of reverence, like the man before them was just like they were. He did feel similar though.

His finger was upon the rim, caressing the glass in silence. As Cupid spoke, Chuuya’s hold was placed on the stem, waving the wine to let it breathe; he wasn’t aware of such sadness, yet didn’t care. Couldn’t find enough effort to hide it. That’s a desperate measure from someone who’s already been caught.

“That’s a therapist's job.” After the last sip, the ginger ordered another one. “A cheapass one.”

Your comfort character doesn't need to be perfect, good, or always forced to do horrible things, but if people enjoy this version of him, that's valid as well.

Despite their hunger, they would only feed that way with permission, the very idea of forcing themself upon someone more abhorrent than they could put into words. If they were unable to convince the man, even for something as simple as a kiss, they'd back off just to talk. Nothing wrong with conversation with a man they'd devour otherwise.

That was, until their eyes locked, to which they smiled, moving their heart-shaped sunglasses down to reveal their heart-shaped pupils. Most thought them to be contacts or some sort of surgery, either way they found people to be intrigued by their more inhuman features.

❝ Somethin' the matter? ❞ they asked innocently, ❝ You don't have t' kiss me...I don't even know your name. ❞

Narrowing his eyes, Chuuya wondered if the alcohol was playing with him. Perhaps they’re gifted, but the mafioso didn’t feel different. If for any reason, such pupils had anything to do with love, the absence of it was the reassurance needed to trust, at least, a talk.

“… Nothin’.” Liar. Chuuya took another sip. “Ain’t that a God? Well, I guess it kinda suits ya.”

His intuition wasn’t wrong; well, there’s nothing to brag about. If a cat looks like a cat, then it’s a cat.

“Chuuya.” Quietly, moved his hat closer to him. “There, an empty seat.”

❝ I'm not here alone, ❞ Cupid corrected, ❝ At least, I'm not alone in Japan. My siblin's are here with me. ❞

They took a drink from their own wine with a sigh, leaning their elbow against the bar. Something about the guy in front of them felt familiar, like they were looking at someone like themself, but they brushed the thought aside. They wanted entertainment for the night, perhaps company, or maybe someone to bring to their lonely younger brother.

Waved his hand without interest, closing his eyes. The heart, however, can be deceived by itself and hear no one else besides its own longings. Chuuya’s mind was well aware of his owner’s stubbornness.

“I’ve heard that before.” He said, cheek against his fist. “Blunt as hell, ain’t ya?”

Opening his eyes, his blue gaze met theirs. Now, that’s a timing; it almost feels intentional. He breathed deeply as his yearnings peeked out, only to be shut down by his gut.
