His idea for an exploration walk had been many things, but not wise - or, if it had been a good idea at its core, he had gone about its execution in a terrible way. Not something that hadnāt happened to him before. As much knowledge as he had, Loki wasnāt always patient enough, or didnāt play nice enough. A walk was never bad. Except when it went wrong.
The silhouette before his eyes was an unfamiliar one, though the instance of meeting someone new wasnāt. Heād need time to figure out who this was and where this meeting would take them. But to be able to think about it all, he needed rest first. In this state even keeping his eyes open was hard. He had walked for too long, and slept for too little. No wonder he felt this way.
āAh, good⦠Okay. Iāll try.ā Gravity was betraying him, anyway. Had he not tried to sit down now, he would have found himself on the ground in a bit, anyway. Carefully lowering himself down, Loki spotted the offered hand and took it. It wasnāt that he wasnāt used to relying on others⦠but trusting them was an unfamiliar feeling. Still, whoever this was, they were helping.Ā āThank you.ā
āI hope yā donāt mind the question, I mean⦠Iām grateful youāre here. But isnāt it a bit dark and cold out now?⦠I wasnāt expecting to find anyone. Unless you like this weather,ā he chuckled.
Why exactly Fate was out so late herself wasnāt a question she had a good answer for. With no particular place to call home at the moment, wandering filled the time. Inevitably she would stumble upon the next bastion of civilization and settle down for a while before moving on, but for the moment it was her lot in life to aimlessly explore.Ā
Not that it was particularly bothersome. The demon hadnāt even noticed the cold or dark, likely a bi-product of the thick dress she wore and the shawl around her shoulders, as well as her feline eyes adapting to the encroaching darkness. In a move sheād likely regret in due time, Fate offered the shawl out to her current company.Ā
āI cannot say I am a fan of the current weather, but I can not complain either. It is dry and relatively safe.ā She answered, āI do not have any place to be, so here is as good a place as any. If I may return the question, what is your excuse for being out in these conditions in your current state?āĀ Ā
The question was posed with a slight chuckle, a hint of discomfort tainting the otherwise playful concern. Trust did not come easily to this woman, her current situation one that was both familiar and deeply uncomfortable. The many times sheād encountered and aided a stranger and been stabbed in the back played through her mind, pushing wariness and caution to itās forefront. All the while she hoped the cover of darkness hid the scars and old wounds that might mark her as a threat.Ā
