After seeing many other people do it, I thought I'd give it a shot as well. In my AU I'm mixing OC's and canon and I wanna mix serious Crp vibes with the vibes it had like,,,15 years ago. Yknow, with the Slendermansion and all.

It's getting less cold.

Weather is still awful, but at least you dont have to freeze to death anymore. Rain is replacing the snow, so much so that during todays patrol I slipped and fell several times despite wearing my better boots. Everything is muddy. The dog didnt seem to mind. When ████ patrols near you, that husky is always close by. Perhaps it needs a bath, though Im sure some of that red will never leave its fur. I'm glad that it doesnt bite me, the way Ive seen it rip apart others. 

So despite falling a bunch, patrol was boring. Same woods. Same trees. Fixed fences and checked alarms. As I usually did. When the sun set, ███ took over, we switched shifts. He smelled like he had already inhaled too many cigarettes.  Makes sense. I see that he smokes more when he's working at the watchtower. When I asked, if I ever get to help there, he told me not to get eager and to 'keep my nosy ears away'. Maybe I'll try again next time. 

Other than that, I couldnt learn anything interesting today. Everyone was busy.

 In my AU, the universe as we know it, has an origin beyond what we know. Before anything really existed, there was stillness. A quiet togetherness. At least until something caused it to split. It tore itself apart to form two seperate conditions: 

Physical matter (Form, Earth)

Abstract matter (Void, Light, Space)

One cannot exist without the other. Irritation causes abnormalities to arise, reality is destabilized. Should one destroy the other, existence as a whole is doomed. This means that theres a delicate balance to be maintained.

What does this have to do with Creepypasta? Well, two beings are the embodiments of each matter. Slenderman "rules" over physical matter, meanwhile Zalgo "rules" over abstract matter. In a way, I am trying to portray them as eldritch beings that hold a deep long grudge against eachother. In the end, they see eachother as foes, the opposite, so they resort to a petty fight for territory. Neither can enter the others space, as a being cannot fully exist outside of the domain it originated from, so they use humans (or other less important means) to do so. 

Humans and animals are beings made from both domains. Their physical body comes from the earth, while a soul comes from space. Therefore humans are living disputed territory. If Slenderman would want to pull someone/something into earth dominance, he would have to dull their soul - their star. Likewise, if Zalgo wanted to pull someone/something to space dominace, he would have to damage their physical form by enhancing their star. 

Humans and animals are very influeceable beings afterall.

Pulled towards earth dominance = Proxies

Pulled towards space dominance = Infected

None of this recorded by humanity. Scientists and the like, no nothing of this. Events where reality destabilized due to the conflict looked like mental instabilities, missing person cases, urban legends, tech malfunctions, unexplained tragedies, etc... to people.

The woods are still cold at this time of year. Late hours make it colder and the mist always curled low around █████ and my boots when we came back from the mission.

I'm still getting used to it.

But even today I leared things about this place, that kept further shattering my understanding of this reality. Everything I ever learned was false. The others act as though it's no longer a big deal for them, but I see it in the way ████ shoulders tense and he rolls himself a new cigarette with shaky hands. He'll burn the sleeves of his jacket one day. But to me? Its still so much to understand and I was only told things with reluctance, but I feel this need. I need to talk about it, even if I'm talking into the void. 

Before everything I was taught in school about the way our universe came to be, there was apparently only stagnant stillness until something caused it to split. And every physical matter split from antimatter. A body from its soul. But neither can function without the other, so they agreed on balance and territory. He controls physical matter, he is the 50% of the split. And without the other, everything would just collapse.

So why are they in a petty fight over territory? I didnt bother asking who started it. Maybe that was a mistake.

But I did ask what part we play in all this. We are beings of both domains - literal walking undisputed territory. We have our physical form and the soul inside. We are their loopholes. Since giving up my soul and choosing a side, I feel lighter though. It feels itchy and sometimes like I forgot something, but to me that's doable. Or maybe Im just odd. Or coping better. Still getting used to it.
