The funeral of Christian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh in the Cathedral for the Annunciation of the Virgin in Jerusalem, May 13th, 2022.
Abu Akleh was shot and killed by the Israeli Defense Forces on May 11th while reporting on an IDF raid in the West Bank. Before arriving at the church, the funeral procession for Abu Akleh was attacked by Israeli police. Pallbearers were beaten with batons, causing them to drop her casket. She was laid to rest at Mount Zion Cemetery.
