AKOTSK Princess Mononoke au where Dunk was a squire under Ser Arlan, traveling and working from one place to the next. They find a strange beast twisted by blood magic trying to ravage a village and kill the people there, so they intervene and manage to kill it. But it managed to wound Arlan and put a curse on Dunk (who landed the killing blow), cursing him so his flesh slowly rots away starting with the arm he used to slay it.

Eventually Arlan's wounds get infected and he dies on the road, so Dunk buries him under a tree and decides to find a cure for his curse. He hears that there's a mythical place called Valyria where there are creatures that wield magic and might be able to help him. So he sets off for it.

Along the way he encounters a young boy (no points for guessing who) who also wants to go there, so after some arguing Dunk agrees to take him on as a squire. After lots of traveling, they finally reach it. Turns out there's a big growing human settlement (maybe Ashford?) on the edge of Valyria, which is inhabited/controlled by the Targaryens, and the two are locked in conflict. People can't just go into Valyria because the place is heavily protected and anyone who tries to enter is either riddled with the Bloodraven's arrows or burnt to a crisp by the dragons (yes there are dragons here, basically all the Targs can shapeshift into dragons in this au, except for Aerion because the irony would be crazyyyy, the guy obsessed with the dragons being the only one who CAN'T transform into one??? oh it would kill him)

One day Aerion decides it'd be a great idea to rush into Ashford by himself armed with nothing but his dagger to kill their leader (which let's be honest is reckless as hell but Aerion isn't one for thinking ahead, plus he's desperate to "prove himself" as blood of the dragon). Dunk intervenes to stop both sides from killing each other, which gets him badly wounded and also reveals his curse to everyone. Egg also tries to intervene which leads to Aerion recognizing him and people realizing he's also a Targaryen.

At that point all the people there want the three of them dead so Dunk grabs Aerion and Egg and books it out into Valyria. Ofc eventually he collapses from his wounds, which leads to Aerion yelling at him for getting in his way and the iconic "I'll cut your throat"/"you're beautiful" scene.

What game would you erase from your memory just to experience it for the first time again?
