In the Fandom, it is pretty much universally assumed that Alma saw the doors of her children first and they made a big ceremony out of opening them. The flashback would back that up, but that was Alma telling the story to Mirabel and we all know that she told a very kid friendly version of events.
And I just remembered my brother and me who were ALWAYS up way earlier than our mom on the weekends. Like, we would play wrestling (my favorite was The Undertaker btw) in my brother's bedroom at five in the morning, waiting for mom to wake up and make us breakfast.
Now imagine the triplets getting up before Alma and seeing the doors first, without Alma around. And they are kids, of course they open the glowy doors that appeared on their birthday. Alone!
And then imagine Alma, waking up hours later because something really bright is in her room and she sees her daughter with a freaking little sun over her head.
"Look Mommy! Sunshine indoors!"
And then another "Look Mommy!" and she turns and sees Julieta holding up a bleeding hand and then biting into a wonky sandwich she made and the wound disappears. "Gone! Now I can use the oven myself, can't I?"
And then the third "Mommy" and next to her bed is her son, eyes glowing green and hair whipping in the wind and he is just like "Don't wear your new shoes today. You are gonna trip."
au where mirabel do get a gift when she's five except it's just. being able to die and come back (and when she's dead she can kinda talk to others who's dead)
it's been fucking up Bruno's visions for a WHILE like he's just seen like 50 different ways Mirabel dies and he KNOWS it's all Correct but that's IMPOSSIBLE and he's just been really freaked out bc he thinks his gift is broken (and then the entire family freaks out too bc Bruno is freaked out)
and then Mirabel's ceremony happens and she just immediately passes out (dies) and everyone just absolutely PANICS like it's biggest chaos and panic the entire village has had (in a while or ever)
and then after a few minutes, Mirabel gets up as nothing and just "i talked to abuelo Pedro! he said I died! isn't it cool??' and everyone just. PANIC CONFUSION
meanwhile or a while later Bruno just goes 'oh. so that's what the visions meant. huh. wtf-'
and OF COURSE Mirabel constant plays the I Died card or "hey remember that time I died?" and you have to guess between like 20 different times just THAT YEAR
the entire thing would be chaotic as hell with angsty and/or crack and i just think it's really hilarious lmaoxbxjdbf

Your thumb grazed Camilo’s as you both walked to the market hand in hand. Abuela had sent camilo out to get grocery’s and you decided to tag along. “What’s the first thing on the list?” You ask, turning to face him.
“Uhh…Lettuce?” He replies,obviously unsure. You shrugged before rushing to the veggie stand. “10 tomato’s,2 lettuce, 8 limes and 1 cilantro” you handed the man the money.
“How did you remember all of that?” Camilo asks stunned, but nonetheless was happy that someone remembered. “I don’t know, good memory?” You replied.
Just as you both waited for the groceries a baby began wailing from a nearby house, so loud the entire market went quiet. You sighed and covered your ears.
“Babies are so..ugh..” you stated, annoyed. “You think babies are ugh?“ camilo said, mocking the way you said ‘ugh’
You nodded; “they’re annoying, I don’t know how you do it camilo.” You pat his shoulder before taking the veggies that were finally ready.
He shrugged it off and followed you back to the casita. Your tension flooded away when you felt Camilo’s hand interlock with yours along the way.
Once you both arrived, the door opened. It was dark and more quiet than usual. But you both figured everyone was out doing chores or something.
That was until a familiar face popped out from behind a pillar roaring. Camilo jumped so hard he shifted into 10 different folk around town, and well you only dropped the veggies in shock.
“Haha! I got you guys!” Antonio laughed while pointing at yours and Camilo’s shocked expression. You laughed and shook your head before bending down to Antonio’s height.
You began tickling the younger sibling, making him burst out into laughter. “Payback!” You yelled playfully.
Camilo watched you interact with his little brother, as if you didn’t just say you disliked babies and toddlers 30 minutes ago.
“But I thought- did you just-?” He made weird gestures with his hands pointing towards where the market is and the baby crying.
Alma: *sees triplets fighting* ALL THREE OF YOU, GO STAND IN THE CORNER! NOW!
Triplets: *huddle together in one corner*
Alma: I meant separate corners!
Triplets: NOOO!!!
Alma: But you were just fighting with each other!
Julieta: That doesn’t mean we want to be separated!
Pepa: Bruno’s got separation anxiety!
Bruno: *starts crying*
