another nurse kept talking behind my back “night shift does nothing” “those fat asses on night shift” etc etc etc which, you’re really going to comment on my weight???

so charge nurse (who is also my best friend) and I decided to confront her with me leading the conversation. she came in and I said “____, were we a topic of conversation?”

she immediately became hostile but I stayed calm and firm even when she was yelling because get this… we forgot to label a few papers. of patients who did not have labels available to us. how are we supposed to conjure labels out of thin air?

so I told her “do not yell at me, we are having an adult conversation.” and that stopped her because we are not yelling today, Stay Cool is Still the Main Rule.

she sat down and I told her firmly that i do not appreciate being talked about behind my back and if she has something she needs to tell us, she needs to communicate it to us directly instead of making fun of us to other nurses because we are a team. she was speechless.
