An awesome site for all your beer and cider needs in Ontario. So useful. Got to start planning some road trips...
Defender IPA from Brooklyn Brewery is a 6.7% ABV beer. The official beer of NYC Comic Con is here to guard against the creeping blandness. Lots of citrus and pine on the nose of this beer. Pleasantly hoppy with a nice citrus finish. A very nice IPA.
Leather Interior by Redline Brewhouse is a 5.4% ABV brown ale. As the label implies there is a hint of vanilla and a strong nutty taste from the almonds. A really decent beer.
Maple Butter Tart Ale brewed and bottled by Sawdust City Brewing Company. Made to celebrate the annual Midland Butter Tart Festival, this 5% ABV beer sounds great in theory but is a lot less so in reality. The maple flavor is quite strong and there is a brown sugary sweetness to the beer. The problem is the beer finishes with a strong bitter finish. Normally not a bad thing but this sweet and savory attempt doesn’t work for me.

Williams Bros. Brewing Company's Alba Scotch Pine Ale comes in at 7.5% ABV. A tasty beer with a slight hint of pine on the palette. Generally a bit sweet. A specialty brew from Scotland that is worth a try!
The Publican House Brewery Square Nail Pale Ale comes in at 5.5% ABV. Lots of malty toffee notes to this beer. Decent hop finish to this. Not a bad beer at all.
Happy Halloween!! I'm treating myself to a Nightmare on Mill Street Pumpkin Ale.
While travelling in Barcelona we stopped by Brewdog! Tasty beers were had.
Lazy Magnolia's Jeff Stout sweet potato cream stout comes in at 4.5% ABV. This was an interesting beer. I'm not a huge stout guy, but this beer was light and creamy with just a hint of sweet potato. There is almost no coffee taste to this stout which is fine by me. I would drink this beer again, so if you are a stout fan that may mean this beer is not your thing...

Redline Brewhouse Sunset Cruise Belgian Blonde ale. Really cloudy in appearance with lots of fruit up front on this one. Can definitely taste the Belgian influence in this 7.3% ABV beer. Glad to see the variety coming out of Barrie's latest craft brewer.
As an Ontario resident this is a promising start. There's a lot more they can still do but we'll finally see some craft beers in our grocery stores. It will also allow for more availability of craft beer in LCBO stores and Beer Stores. Exciting.
Well I'll definitely have to try to find a HefeWheaties...
Bar Volo, Toronto
Nestled inside a leaf-covered building on the corner of Yonge and Dundonald is Toronto’s iconic Bar Volo beer bar, a must-visit location for any hophead…
With 26 rotating taps and 6 casks, Volo offers one of the finest selections of Canadian craft beers, and a few from foreign friends, that you will find anywhere in the city…
There is only one menu, the one you see above, that changes daily. You decide what you want, remember the corresponding letter to the left, and the bartenders pour your beer from the alphabetized taps…
I enjoyed three incredible beers from small Canadian breweries last night. First up was Konnichiwa Peaches, a peach hefeweizen from Oast House Brewers in Niagara…
Next up was the Gose from Les Trois Mousquetaires in Brossard, QC…
And I finished with a Corolis Effect berliner weisse from Sawdust City Brewing in Gravenhurst, Ontario, cropped to give you a little peak at Volo’s outside patio. on the left there…
Bar Volo also offers an extensive bottle list, an interesting collection of small batch whiskeys and domestic charcuterie and snacks.
A local institution that should no beer lover should miss!

I've been here a bunch of times. Definitely on the must visit list when in Toronto.
Dark Horse Brewing's Scary Jesus Rock Star is a 6.5% ABV pale ale. There is a lot of chamomile on the nose and in the taste of this beer, which is a bit overpowering. The apricot on the other hand is barely there. Bought this one more for the name and the label... :-)

Rogue Ales & Spirits has produced a Sriracha Hot Stout Beer. A typical stout on tasting but the spice kicks in on the after taste. Not too hot, leaving a nice tingle in the back of your throat. Not a stout person myself but an interesting concept.
Lake of Bays Wild North Pumpkin Ale, a tasty beer with enough pumpkin spice to make it interesting. Definitely worth a taste.
