First and foremost I’m not here to tell anyone how to feel. I’m sharing my opinion which is that overacting like this over ONE game is a choice. Canceling jersey orders, selling tickets getting mad at Paige, Jose and Curt… All because Azzi (a ROOKIE) wasn’t utilized the way you think she should’ve been? Let me explain something. The situation Azzi walked into is very different than Paige. So if you’re expecting her season to go the way Paige’s did you’re gonna be disappointed. And I’m not talking in terms of stats or talent. Because we know what Azzi is capable of. This is me reminding you that Paige was quite literally MISERABLE last season. She had no vets, no coach, no help and was being run to the ground after playing a long college season. Why on earth would you want Azzi to experience that? Azzi doesn’t have anything to proof to anyone. So wanting her to have certain stats just to prove people wrong about their irrelevant opinion of her is a waste of time. Every single rookie in the league has had an adjustment period. Azzi is no different. And if Jose didn’t feel like she was ready for the absolutely insane pressure that comes with playing Indy at home that’s okay. It was her very first professional game. That’s a lot for a rookie to take on. Even our vets were a bit rattled at times in that atmosphere. But at the end of the day Jose has only spoken highly of Azzi. He’s going to push her. And if she’s out there being hesitant he’s going to bench her. She doesn’t look quite comfortable yet and that’s okay. But everyone should be given some grace. I know everyone thinks Azzi needs to be protected and I love how hard y’all ride for her but it gets to a point where it’s doing more harm than good. Azzi spoke about how happy she is on and off the court and every time we see her she’s smiling ear to ear. Maybe take a page out of her book and not make wins feel like losses. That was a huge win for them yesterday and yet socials were more negative than they were for losses last season.
