It makes it dangerous for the beekeeper when they go to retrieve the hive! You also run the risk of killing the Queen! Without the Queen the colony will die out. Ever wonder where bees get their wax from? One of a newborn honeybee’s jobs is producing wax. Newbies special glands that excrete liquid wax, in a similar way that humans sweat. Once exposed to air, the wax begins to harden into flakes. Other bees take these wax flakes and mold them into a part of the honeycomb. As the newbies grow older, they lose this ability as their wax glands become inactive.
