Crab misinformation

Some crabs can see 360° around them! They do this by scuttling around in a circle while they look!

Although many believe that crabs have always naturally inhabited waters closer to land such as beaches and harbours, this is actually a misconception and the reason so many crabs can be found in these places is because in the early days of marine travel, boats would be pulled across the oceans by captured deep sea crabs who were cut free once the destination was reached

You can't tell the age of a crab by counting rings on their shell like a tree, not because they don't have age rings (they do!) But because that's mean and will upset the crab :(

While crabs are bottom feeders today, feeding off scraps they find rather than hunting, this is a recent development. Less than 100 years ago, crabs were apex predators in the ocean and still could be. However, they are very environmentally conscious and decided to take a stand against food waste

A group of crabs is called a cast. This is because 80% of the time, if more than three crabs are together, they are putting on an amateur performance of Rent!

While the birds work for the bourgeoisie, crabs are proud champions of the proletariat! The only thing we have to lose are our chains, and the crabs will snip us free!

Unlike their crustacean cousins, the lobsters that are an aphrodisiac when eaten, crab meat actually lowers the libido of whatever consumes it. This is a nifty defence mechanism to reduce breeding in their predators!
