i havent told her because i dont want to make this situation about me, but it hurt so badly that a girl i consider one of my best friends wouldnt want me to help her through a tough time like that.

like i could write a whole think piece on will byers and how they genuinely humiliated his character. like how did they go from the culturally historical moment that was Robin’s coming out scene to the most awkward humiliation ritual of a coming out. like did they even understand their own character? will byers would not come out to a crowd of people, half of which he barely knows. and the whole “and me!” “and me!” of it all.. like ik the show can be cringe but that was to a whole different level.

and what makes matters worse is that the poor writing just encourages homophobia. unfortunately, people were going to be hateful anyways, but the awful writing absolutely did not help.. if anything it makes homophobes feel more justified in their hate.

and then the endings they gave both robin and will? like will getting a ‘here damn’ epilogue boyfriend who has maybe 20 seconds of screentime and ZERO lines while EVERY other character was allowed a love interest. plus the absolute queerbait of byler that i wont even get into right now.

and ROBIN, we barely got to see any of her relationship with vickie, we never saw their date at enzos even though it was mentioned so much throughout s5, and they apparently broke up in the epilogue? also this might be too woke but did anyone else noticed how in the epilogue they made her dress more like.. ‘straight’..

well not necessarily straight but definitely against the style she had established
