Aight kids. Looks like we have more breaking news. ICE agents south Minneapolis has ignited a sharp clash between city officials and federal immigration authorities.”

At about 9:30 a.m. this morning January 7,  federal ICE officer opened fire near East 34th Street and Portland Avenue.

The person killed was 37‑year‑old Renee Nicole Good, a U.S. citizen who was acting as a legal observer for her immigrant neighbors.

The Department of Homeland Security and Secretary Kristi Noem *cough*gestapo*cough* say the officer acted in self‑defense after Good allegedly used her vehicle to try to run over agents, labeling the act “domestic terrorism.”

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and Governor Tim Walz reject that narrative, calling it “bullshit” and “propaganda.” City officials point to video showing Good attempting to drive away without posing a threat. Witnesses report agents gave contradictory orders—one told her to leave, another tried to open her door—before the officer fired multiple rounds through the driver’s side window.

As a result, Mayor Frey demanded ICE leave the city, and Governor Walz issued a warning order to the Minnesota National Guard in case of further unrest.

Both the FBI and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension have opened investigations into the use of deadly force.

Large vigils have formed at the shooting site, while protests and confrontations with federal agents have erupted elsewhere, including at Roosevelt High School where Border Patrol officers reportedly used chemical irritants on bystanders.
The incident occurs amid a massive federal immigration surge that has seen more than 2,000 agents deployed to the Twin Cities. Time to head outside folks. Stay warm! Stay safe! Stay loud!
