Catherine O'Hara's passing really hit hard. I was raised on her works and was so pleased that her career was going through a sort of renaissance following the popularity of Schitt's Creek. I almost took the day off from work when I found out that she was gone.
So, anyway, today I finally have a Saturday of no responsibilities and I queued up all of the Canadian tracks you shared from your OG playlist and gave them all a listen. I have to hand it to you friend, you definitely know your Canadian '80s soft-rock anthems. Every single one of these is a classic that I definitely came up hearing on the radio, and they made a nice playlist as well. Sheriff are indeed Canadian, from Toronto, Ontario! I can't help but to think of Joe Dirt any time I hear "When I'm With You" lmao but pleaaaase, the extreme sappiness would go so hard in CTM. Okay 1) this is such a sweet sentiment and I appreciate you, friendo! and 2) As a very clear music nerd (shocking, I know), it makes me happy that anyone would listen to any musical suggestions, recs, mentions that may come spewing from my mouth (or fingertips as it were)! Honestly, the well never empties, there's so much to indulge in and the more you discover, truly, the better life is, I really, truly believe that! 🫶
I loooooove me some Hayley Williams. She's amazing. Her lyrics are so goddamn good it hurts. I do miss me some Paramore. Very sad I couldn't manage tickets for her solo tour. I had tickets for the Petals For Armor tour when Covid canceled it. Alas! I did not see her on AP's podcast. I have heard her (both at Paramore shows and during a couple of the Parahoy crusies) discuss some of the shit she has faced and I can't even imagine the stuff that hasn't seen the light of day for public consumption.

And it's not out of the realm of possibilities for Nancy's thought trains in CTM, she's had the thought before that Robin looked handsome (I want to say this was in Chapter 38, when she arrived at the Memorial Day BBQ, because she thought Robin looked like she'd dressed to exist - like as herself, rather than to be seen.
