   *  âwhatâs it like having a button eye?â curiosity once again gets the better of you before you even get the chance to stop yourself from running your mouth. still, asking such a question shouldnât be so bad, right? after all, you are simply curious. being around monsters with parts that donât quite align to your own is fascinating, after all. you just canât help yourself at times.
  *  âsince it has .. three holes and all, do you see thrice as well? or are you thrice as  blind in that one?â you tilt your head to the side. interested, you are. you wonder if this is any offense to seam â but does that really apply when referring to a plush cat? ah. maybe youâre being strange. you wonder briefly if your mother would be surprised if she found out you go around asking nonchalantly about monster parts.
IF THEREâS ONEÂ thing seam isnât used to, itâs being asked questions about themself. itâs been a long time since anyone took interest in them. a long time since someone came along who didnât know everything seam had been willing to share, once upon a time.
thatâs the thing about their little kingdom â everyone knows everyone, and everyone knows everything about everyone.
but thatâs all CHANGEDÂ now, hasnât it?
the lightner has no fear, or so it seems. no filter between thought and word. and the barrage of questions catch the old shopkeeper by surprise, for seam cannot fathom a reason why someone would want to know such things.
perhaps it is this impropriety that warms them to the idea of being open once more. itâs almost exciting, to be in the presence of someone unpredictable once again.
âyou have quite the   IMAGINATION,  â seam says with a warm laugh thatâs more of a purr. âthatâs a good thing! i think this world would be better off if everyone had a little more imagination.â
itâs an odd thing to say about a place forged entirely from childrenâs toys and games. enough, even, to perhaps make one wonder if itâs the dark world that seam is speaking of.
âas for your question, itâs simply a⌠replacement.â they could probably make something up, something far more exciting, but they find themself drawn to telling the true version of the story, for some reason they canât quite wrap their mind around. âyou see this SCAR here?â one large paw traces the long stitch on their face, running from the edge of the orange button. âbeneath this button is a large gouge. itâs rather gory and unpleasant.â another laugh, as they watch krisâ reaction. âcotton everywhere.â with their good eye, they wink. âthink of it like an eye patch. does that make sense?â
