Ned is our story's hero. A man who is able to wake the dead by touching them. First touch: life. Second touch: dead, forever. He uses this mysterious ability for good by solving murders with PI, Emerson Cod.

While getting to the bottom of her murder, Ned wakes his childhood sweetheart, Charlotte "Chuck" Charles. When he chooses not to touch Chuck a second time, he can never touch her again. This leads to separate twin beds, adorable Saran Wrap kisses, jingle bell slippers, and romantic beekeeper dances. It's all so beautifully heartbreaking. 

Just look at that bashful bastard.

When Ned says the most heartfelt words, they never seem too schmaltzy, and my heart bursts out of my chest.

Ned: You're the only one for me.  Chuck: I know you feel that way now, but there are things you want... there are things we both want.  Ned: Oh, everyone wants stuff. We wake up, everyday with a list of wishes a mile long and maybe we spend our lives trying to make those wishes come true, but just because we want them doesn't mean we need them to be happy.  Chuck: What do you need to be happy?  Ned: You. 

All I want to do it give Ned the biggest, tightest hug, which he would detest given his dislike of physical contact. 

Paul Rudd is the finest of all wines. He has gotten better and better with age and yet maintains his delightful boyish charm that I find so darn attractive. 

In fact, I'm coming up empty on Paul Rudd movies that I DIDN'T like, not to mention his guest star roles on TV shows like Parks and Recreation and Friends.

Plus, this year he's starring in a David Wain film with Amy Poehler called They Came Together, aka Courtney's Soon-to-Be Favorite Movie Ever.
