honestly the way vampires do and always have subverted the gender binary is something that will always interest me.  there is something incredibly gender euphoric about how lord ruthven was described.  it calls to mind more modern interpretations like ricean vampires (rice’s fiction, of course, has its own incredibly problematic faults) or even sections written by bram stoker that focus heavily on the vampire(s)’ red, blood-stained lips from mr. harker’s point of view.

if any of my followers have a copy/boot of bal vampriov from any of the 2012/13 (ozhogin + either gazaeva or sveshnikova) shows and would not mind sharing it with me, i would be very grateful. my own copy was mistakenly erased on a shared drive, and i’m willing to share what i have left in return.
