Reasoning: "I really, really, really did not like her romantic chemistry with any of the male characters in the books(especially not Frank, who was way too old to be dating her. I love Frank to death, but still. Rick, why’d you write mah boi like that?!). On the other hand I can very easily see her getting in a relationship with a cute Aphrodite or Demeter girl her age(or any girl her age, really) and being able to have fun and be cherished and do cute innocent young girl things like draw and ride horses and make jewelry and stuff. She’d make a great pastel goth femme lesbian, seriously, she’s got the stuff for it, and on top of that, her brother Nico di Angelo is gay, and would definitely support her/try to play wingman to get Hazel a gf. My friend also ships her with Peni Parker from the Spiderverse movies if you’re about that crossover biz. Overall I think it’s a great idea, especially since Rick has other queer female characters as well(such as Piper and Reyna, among others), and Greco-Roman mythology, as we all know, is heavy with lgbt themes. Reasoning: "From the showrunners’ own admission: “As a lot of you already guessed, we were asked to give each of our girl “an official boyfriend.” Iris has Nathaniel from the start, Auriana was written to have many & none at the same time, but nothing was written for Talia in the serie’s bible. And so, Kyle was created... but now it feels that we rushed it. We weren’t ready to give Talia a boyfriend, and we made a lot of early mistakes. :) No shame to admit it though, as long as we learn from it. Kyle was thought to be a nice and patient boy, able to “melt” Talia’s sense of duty and help her relax and enjoy life too. It was “Talia’s issue” in this episode, and Iris was supposed to help her solve it. It could have been good this way, but truth is : Talia didn’t need Kyle for that, and it made this relationship kind of artificial and forced. The twins’s evil plot was kinda confusing, I admit it too. Now, I think a better way to finish this episode would have been to have Talia realizing that focusing only on the mission all the time wasn’t healthy for her, politely telling Kyle “thanks, you’re cute, but let’s just be friends... at least for now”, and telling Iris & Auriana “thanks girls, you’re the best, and you’re right : I should relax more, but right now I don’t need or want a boy for that. So because of that I just thought that it would be cool if Talia had had a girlfriend instead! I mean, it makes so much sense! We don’t see her fawning over any boys besides Kyle(which the writers themselves even admit was shallow and forced and that Kyle was an unnecessary character who didn’t need to exist), and she doesn’t really have any romantic chemistry with any male characters like Iris or Auriana do. In fact, she even says herself that she doesn’t have time for boys. She just doesn’t really seem to give a shit about boys at all. And even Mephisto gets to have some romantic chemistry/ship tease moments with Iris and Auriana(he falls in love with Iris due to being under a love spell and acts super cheesy and romantic, and also later says that he would serve Iris as Queen if he weren’t working for Gramorr, and he also shows multiple times that he had a crush on Auriana), but none with Talia. In contrast, she has a lot of close and affectionate moments with female characters such as Iris and Auriana, and is shown warming up to them over time. It is easy to see how one could ship her with the two, especially Auriana because of the opposites attract trope. Because of this, I think that Talia being a lesbian could be a great course of action for her character to take, as it wouldn’t detract from canon in any way(they could easily dismiss Kyle as computer, something that she thought she wanted, but didn’t, and call it a day). And she could end up in a relationship with a princess such as Carissa or Lyna. While I don’t think the writers intended to make her a lesbian and that they rather just didn’t want her to have a boyfriend yet/be boy-crazy(similar to Clawdeen Wolf, another Black female character in a girly kids’ cartoon who wasn’t boy-crazy like her female friends which led to the fandom head smoking her as a lesbian and her creator wholeheartedly supporting it), I do think that her being one is the most natural direction of her character and would serve as a cool way to do away with the heteronormativity in the show. And also give Black girls like me some femme lesbian representation. It would certainly make me see myself in her more. And love her more. So there. 🩵" ( @justanisabelakinnie )

Reasoning: "She is quite literally a peak man-hating lesbian who is traumatized by men and thus rightfully fears and is rude to them. She also clearly has more chemistry with women as shown with Jecka and her wanting to be “sexed-up abusive lesbians” with Jecka, and also with Emily as she gets flustered with Emily complimenting her. She’s also implied to have had sex with Ari in the Date Ari route and even after they break up Ari still wants to be FWB with Nicole because she “gives amazing head”(Nicole’s words, not mine). She also is not shy about complimenting girls’ appearances, in the animated short she calls Emily “the hottest bitch ever” and then makes another homoerotic comment that is way too inappropriate for Tumblr. She also says in her Q&A that her crush is “any girl who lets me beat the shit out of them”. Finally there’s her big ass crush on Principal Lynn and her wanting to see pictures of Lynn covered in baby oil. She also subtly hits on Lynn and calls Lynn her dom. Fortunately Lynn doesn’t reciprocate because she’s not a nasty disgusting pedophile like all of the male teachers and staff at Nicole’s school, but Nicole’s crush on Ms. Lynn is still far to evident for us gaydies to ignore. Either Nicole would be a highly toxic violent and abusive girlfriend like in the date Ari route or she would improve, go to therapy to improve her mental health, and then get into a happy healthy and EQUAL relationship with Jecka. Or yk she would just be in an unhinged and destructive but still loving and caring relationship with Emily. Who’s to say?
