I was NOT expecting him to be interested and a little touched, and to look back mildly into the past and go "... Huh. I don't think I've ever had a Rosary."

This man has been a convert since the 1950's when he married my grandma. He might not have been overly fervent, but he helped raise four kids in the faith. He and Grandma are my godparents. He built my Mom her rosary case, a large wooden stand that was always mounded with all our rosaries and rosary books, with our favorites usually hanging off it-not even making it inside.

And in all that time, no one has thought to give him a rosary. Because he was Catholic, right? He must have a Rosary somewhere...
