Jeonghan noticed. He knew what was going on. He wasn't incapable of sensing the more-than-friendly conversations and actions his significant other had with his own best friend named Xinyi. But despite being filled with sorrow, he continued to treat the both of them properly. Calmly and with class, he ignored and kept quiet about it. He was quite skilled at acting clueless, which is how he went by undetected by the two.
A number of days passed, and it was now time for Jeonghan and Hwaseong's 4th month celebration. Both of them had planned surprises for each other, Jeonghan smiled brightly and thanked his boyfriend for the gift even though he knew that he was trying to distract him from noticing how Hwaseong was lacking as his lover. But this time, he had planned on breaking it to him that he indeed knew about what he was doing behind his back.
"Seongie~" he said in a sing-song voice, "Do you still enjoy talking and hanging out with me?" His boyfriend sat up straight, tilting his head to the left he answered. "Of course. I really enjoy talking and being with you. You make my life so much better, do you know that baby?" Jeonghan pretended to coo over his boyfriend, "But why don't we do this more often then?" He pouted.
Hwaseong chuckled, "I do enjoy and vibe with people that I'm friends with baby, you can't always have my time but I assure you, you're on my mind the whole time I'm with them." Jeonghan giggled, kissing Hwaseong on the cheek. "That must mean you love me a lot don't you?" Jeonghan winked. His boyfriend glanced slightly to the left before nodding and pressing a kiss to Jeonghan's lips. "Of course, I love you so so so much."

Little did Jeonghan know that Hwaseong realized that Jeonghan knew more than he was sharing, and in just five days time; the couple soon reached the decision to break up.
Jeonghan was devastated when they parted ways, and the fact that Xinyi was the one who convinced Hwaseong to break up with him. He felt betrayed, he became a sobbing mess and proceeded to lock himself up in his room for three days straight until his roommate Joshua was able to break into his room and convince him to take a shower and eat.
He felt horrible. He couldn't focus on anything. Soon reaching his breaking point, he broke down sobbing on Joshua's shoulder, recalling and letting out what happened during that dreadful day.
"Jeonghan it's not your fault. It's just, I don't love you anymore. You didn't do anything wrong but my feelings just faded. I lost interest in you. You don't make me feel the same way as we did before. I only dated you because the thought of having someone to date made me excited and happy. I can assure you that I did love you at one point in our relationship but I just can't handle it anymore."
Jeonghan froze, he didn't wanna lie to himself, he expected this to happen but he certainly did not expect it to hurt that much. "Did you f-fall out of love with me because you love somebody else now?" Jeonghan asks, voice cracking in the process. Hwaseong glanced left and shook his head. "No, I'm not in love with anyone else."
Oh what a lie. What a lie. What a lie.
"I want to come clean to you, and I'm sorry about this. The way that I've been treating you was intentional. I ignored you and treated you like shit on purpose. I was horrible to you so you'd get sick of me and leave. But then I realized you were still holding on despite all of that so we've come to this. Please just let me go. I don't want you or love you anymore. That's all I have to say to you Jeonghan. Goodbye."
Jeonghan fell down to his knees, a loud sob escaping his lips as his body began to shake violently, his hand gripping onto his chest tightly; as if it would ease the pain. He felt in that moment, something inside him died.

God, I wish that you had thought this through, before I went and fell in love with you. When she's sleeping in the bed we made, don't you dare forget about the way you betrayed me. 14 days, two weeks. That was when news broke out that Hwaseong was dating Jeonghan's bestfriend Xinyi. Jeonghan did nothing. He was too surprised with their insensitivity to do anything. He did what he did best, let them be.
After the news, Jeonghan changed. He became colder, and he didn't open up to anyone so easily anymore. He kept suffering on the inside despite doing his best to move on with life. He's reached the point that he doesn't care about them anymore, he's happy for them actually. But he knows that he still feels betrayed and heartbroken.
And from that alone, he knew he'd remain in that state for a long time.
