Have you ever felt like a part of you also went away with that TV show/Kdrama, and every time you watch it again, that joy returns to your heart? That’s how I feel when I watch 2521 and revisit all the scenes with Heedo and Yurim.

Well, I miss Heerim so much. Though my mind has given them a break for a while.

But let’s come to the point.

Just a silly observation of how Heedo subtly takes Yurim into her arms, just to reaffirm her protection in their embrace.

The way she’s lifted up by Heedo in a subtle way. I can go crazy.

My observation is supported by the fact that Yurim is smaller than Heedo. Her face would clearly be at the height of Heedo’s neck.

If Yurim had a pen with her, she probably had a piece of paper in her purse to write down the pager number. But instead, she chose to walk up to Heedo, closing the distance between them, and write her personal contact directly on Heedo’s arm. To me, that felt like a very clear queer-coded moment, one in which Baek Yijin suddenly became irrelevant.

Haters: “Ko Yurim is just a slut desperate for attention.”

Heedo: “What did you say about my girlfriend? Say it again.”

After the bathroom events.

Heedo: “My girlfriend, huh? HOW IDIOT I’M, I just hate that annoying girl.”

Heedo: *red alert, gay panic*

There are no plausible heterosexual explanations for the fact that Yurim discreetly flirted with Heedo in a photo booth after escaping the journalists. I’m sorry, but they’re just idiots in love enjoying their last day together.

She prefers to stifle these confused emotions rather than allow herself to feel them, given that Heedo is incapable of understanding them in the first place, why is this buildup suffocating her in the end?

It was those unspoken words that upset her, why didn’t she say them? Why did she hesitate the last moment she saw her? Heedo wanted to and how she wanted to, yet something about Yurim’s gaze and the promises they could not make at that instant was the most rational option.

Alternative dialogue:

NH: “You can’t just pretend that it didn’t happen.”

KY: “I should have known that things would turn out this way. This really isn’t how I wanted things to turn out.”

NH: “What do you expect me to do? Yurim-ah, I don’t know how to act around you.”

KY: “I don’t want to get hurt. Please don’t make it any worse than it already is. So forget, forget everything that happened.”

NH: “I’m tired of fighting these feelings, so don’t ask me to forget! Is this kind of love wrong for you?”

KY: “...”

NH: “Is this kind of love wrong for you, Ko Yurim?”

KY: “Just forget it.”

NH: “This is my love, don’t tell me to forget it.”
