Celine doesn't take a sip of alcohol until AFTER Rumi and the girls move into the Huntrix Tower.

She's too paranoid to be anything but completely coherent when she's raising Rumi even when she and the girls are perfectly capable of holding their own.

Once they're gone though?

Celine is ON the kitchen counter, bottle of wine in her hand, no glass or cup in sight, ugly crying as she sings 'Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone' at the top of her lungs, words slurring and heart just full on shattered.

It's missing Mi-yeong hours and the heart ache is doubled with the absence of her not-daughter and her not-yet-girlfriends that she also thinks of as not-daughters that she misses so much and it's too quiet without their loud laughter and bickering and pranks and obnoxious gremlin antics and their not subtle sneaking out and *inconsolable sobbing*

It starts as she's driving away from Huntr/x Tower, after helping the girls move in. Just a little...twinge, of something. The flight back to Jeju on a plane occupied solely by her and the pilots doesn't help. Usually these flights are filled with joy and copious amounts of travel snacks, a movie or K Drama playing on the tv and commentary to go along with it. But it's just her now, and the feeling worsens.

It finally hits her when she crosses the threshold in the hanok, staring into the dark, silent space. She's alone.

Even when she was taking care of a recently-orphaned baby, no fellow hunters by her side, expected to hold the world together by herself, she was never truly alone. Because she had Rumi.

But now Rumi was back in Seoul. She could call. She could feel her through the Honmoon. She could even get back in the plane and see her again. But Rumi was an adult, now. And Celine needed to get over it. Rumi needs to grow on her own, along with Mira and Zoey.

Mira and Zoey, post reveal: "Ah, all these weird traits make sense now. It's because she's half demon."

Celine, who spent most of her free time researching demons to better understand Rumi: "No, she's just like that."

And then she gets home from the hunt and Rumi's sitting upside down on the sofa eating apple peels. Just the peels. In the dark.

If anyone is curious why it would make them cry

Mira: So they kicked him out because he uses dancing to express himself??

Rumi: Because he wasn’t born right??

Celine: And the parents just watch him leave?? They don’t even try to stop him?

Zoey: Well, yeah. It’s supposed to—Oh no.

As for Mira and Rumi, the latter 100 percent sees herself in Mumble. Assuming this is polytrix, the two girls cling to each other, whispering comforting words to each other because they know what the other is thinking. They know what is it like to be social outcasts.

Polytrix is 100% cuddling together especially Mira and Rumi.
