warnings: date everything spoilers, closed relationship, heavy make-outs, very possessive Eddie, NSFW but nothing graphic/mostly insinuations, implied afab reader(?), reader is also implied to be shorter than them
Before Realization (after love status):
You better be at The Breaker Box every night!
Volt dedicates every nightâs show to you.
âThis evening, as always, is dedicated to your lovely Live-Wire! Try not to stare too much, theyâre very taken.â He has the biggest grin every time he announces that, always being sure to point you out in the crowd so the other objects can see you⌠and perhaps be jealous of what they canât have.
Volt always plants a big, exaggerated kiss on your lips for everyone to see before closing the bar and ushering out the patrons.
He then goes to âclean upâ, promising to be back soon, but he never is; you and Eddie can only theorize what he does in the hours he leaves you to your own devices.
Eddie still expects you to stay every night after close, to help with ârepairsâ (he just wants to make you a drink and talk in private)
Donât mention that you never actually do any work with him though, he gets embarrassed.
Through trial and error Eddie managed to figure out your favourite drink (god forbid he just ask) so he mixes it every night for you without asking.
If itâs something sweet he secretly loves the way the flavour mixes with the strong flavour of his own when he kisses you. Makes him absolutely feral.
Your time spent with Eddie is peaceful; you talk about the future, kiss⌠*lots* of kissing, but you donât mind.
After youâve both finished your drinks and have exhausted your conversation into a comfortable silence, heâll sit you on the bar counter. He stares at you for a little too long before he devours you; groaning something outright sinful when you wrap your legs around his waist.
Eddie always has to have things on his terms; his tongue in your mouth, his strong hands positioning you exactly how he wants⌠He enjoys watching you melt into him, completely his.
Eddie would never admit it, but watching Volt parade you around to the rest of the house makes him a little jealous. Not because heâs jealous of Volt, but because he knows all the other objects see you has belong to him; when in reality youâre just as much Eddieâs.
Maybe thatâs why Volt leaves you two for so long; to allow Eddie time to satiate his hunger for you.
When Volt returns youâre almost certainly a mess; hair messy, clothes out of place from Eddieâs hands roaming your body.
Volt scoffs, talking about how he âCanât leave you two freaks alone for even a moment!â but his grin betrays him; he loves it.
Youâre in for a night filled with them bickering and teasing you endlessly after that. If youâre lucky you may get to spend your evening in the middle of an Eddie-Volt sandwichâŚ
Either way, they both walk you back to Betty; Dorian is almost always appalled by the mess they leave you in, and threatens to start locking the door. The threats are empty though; he sees how happy you are, and wouldnât dare interfere.
They both kiss you goodnight, promising to see you again tomorrow; Eddie promising to hide you away in the back room when Johnny Splashâs performance finally gives you a headache.
After Realization (under the cut):
The very first thing Volt does upon being realized is pull you into a bone-crushing hug.
âLive-Wire!! Youâre so soft⌠Were you always this way?â
âYes dumbass, now let them go before they stop breathing.â
Volt lets you go, but keeps one of your hands in his; the physical sensations are only slightly different, but itâs a whole new world for him.
âSo⌠This is what you feel like all the time, huh?â Eddie takes a moment to adjust to his new form, taking your other hand in his. ââŚYouâre still short.â
You have the best night of your life; all you feel is pure ecstasy as they fill you in every sense of the word. Volt crashes almost immediately while holding you, while Eddie stays up for a while to talk to you; discussing what they should do now, looking to you for approval with his every idea.
Even as they go off to find their place in the world, they swear to be back as soon as possible, permanently. Between Volt dropping to his knees and proclaiming his love to you, and Eddie being unwilling to let you go after each kiss, it takes them over ten attempts to actually get out the door.
They come back frequently for visits, telling you about their latest projects, even if they never seemed to stick. Eddie makes sure to take care of any repairs around your home while Volt entertains you after dinner.
Once they find their calling, with High Voltage Realty, they offer you a job almost instantly. Even under new management you hadnât been feeling fulfilled at Valdivian, and they wanted to share their passion with you.
You end up furnishing and decorating the renovated homes, making them completely move-in ready; which in turn helps you guys stand out from the competition, allowing you all to live comfortably.
You all share a home together, and you fall back into a similar routine you had before; Volt showering you in affection every night before dinner, and Eddie sharing a quiet drink with you afterwards.
You help Eddie plan a vacation for the three of you, allegedly a surprise for Volt, but you see him searching for wedding rings in your size one evening. Some slight snooping reveals a search history filled with questions about if someone can have multiple rings, and a slew of questions regarding marriage law.
You almost forget about it by the time you take the much-needed vacation; until youâre cornered by your two boyfriends, both of them getting down on one knee with their own unique ring for you.
A/N: if you reblog I will kiss you on the mouth and appreciate you for the rest of my life!!! Requests are open, Iâll be posting one tomorrow hopefully :)

After closing hours at the Breaker Box arguing could be heard to anyone who passed by Dorian, who was unlucky enough to have heard all of it for the past hour.
From inside the club you and Eddie were having, what you both would consider a âcausal argument.â Though to those who did not, your dynamic would think it would put Harper & Dirk's shouting matches to shame. Though every argument you had with Eddie had one thing in common: it came from a place of genuine concern and love; but paired with both of your stubborn ways, it looked more violent than you intended.
"Do I seriously have to ban you for a week so you can just cool down?" Eddie was growing tired from trying to get you to stay put at the bar for the past hour. You have been trying to help with maintenance, but he denied your offer every time since you sprained your wrist.
You knew his threat was empty, but with your mind growing just as tired, you believed him. You huffed, âFine, then maybe I'll go be a regular at Bev's!â
Eddie reeled back at your very real threat. You did it before and didn't come to the Breaker Box for two days. All because Eddie wanted to stop serving you after you got drunk once & almost fell down the stairs; And if it weren't for Dorian pulling you into your room and getting you to bed safely. After Eddie learned what happened, you got into another argument, to which you went to Beverley's and slept next to Koa that night. You knew Eddie would blow a fuse that night out of concern if he saw you go up the stairs after getting drunk at Bev's.
When you realize you stepped out of line due to Eddie's silence, you shuffle your feet, thinking of what to say, but he beats you to it, "You can stay... but you can't help.
That comment sparks the fire of the argument in you again, "That's how we got here in the first place!"
Eddie sighs and pinches his nose, âOh god, not this again" Eddie sighs & pinches his nose.
Your argument picks up again, possibly even louder now. The reason for the fight? You had recently sprained your wrist & cramped your hand from taking on a part time job from home while in âlabor limboâ and going around the house helping everyone else. Due to your exhaustion you didn't help much with repairs at the bar, but just sat at the bar and chatted with Eddie.
Eddie was there when you realized how bad your hands were; You were drying dishes while he washed, when you turned the glass & dropped it clutching your hand.
After a quick trip to Farya, she wrapped and iced your hand and told you to take it easy on physical labor. You listened to her for a few days; you stopped helping people around the house, and only took time in keeping pleasant conversation, and even took time off work. But now you feel guilty. Eddie had fallen further behind on work since you would stay after house at the Breaker Box for a chat. Now he was stretching himself thin to take care of you and the bar. When you didnât come to the bar, Eddie would always come to find you and make sure you were resting⌠Which brings you back to now...
"I can handle it! Let me help!â
"No, you need rest. I've got it handled." The lights were starting to flicker as Eddie just wanted to get back to work and let you rest.
You scoffed, âOh yeah, because working alone got you really far last time!"
You both paused as a bulb burst from above you. You look at Eddie, shocked at your own words. You start to move to him when a large hand grips your shoulder, painfully so.
âVoltââ Eddie starts, but doesn't get to finish.
Volt's skin, an inhuman shade of blue, stares coldly down at you, âYouâre cut off for the day. Get. Outâ
"Voltâ You grab his wrist, about to beg him to hear you out, when he suddenly grabs your injured wrist.
Eddie tries to reach Volt seeing you hold back a pained yell, but Volt already has you out the door. "Stay away from Eddie." "Volt doesn't even look at you as he slams the door.
You bang on the door yelling for Volt to let you in, when a small current comes through the door. That small spark finally allows you to feel the pain in your arm, it's excruciating. Volt, whether knowingly or not, had electrocuted your arm. You let out an ear piercing scream, only muffled when someone pulled you into their chest & everything went dark.
When you wake up you notice Farya and Betty right by your sides. Betty was petting your head as Farya was checking up on your arm. Her poking and prodding didnât bother you, but you were confused why she was here.
âWhat happened?â You look around, but Betty keeps you lying down.
Curt and Rod appear from the end of your bed. Curt starts off the explanation, âIt was crazy. Dorian bursts into the room carrying your.â
âAnd you were practically dead. Limp. The whole dramatics.â
âYup. Farya entered not long after, and you were messed up real bad. Whoever you fought, they got you good.â
âThey singed your arm bad. Farya considered cutting it off.â
Your heart started sped up as your breathing became uneven.
âThey are just messing around. That was never even an option cutie.â Betty reassured you. Her warmth helped a bit, but the second you calmed down, you shot back up.
âEddie!â You leapt from the bed before anyone could stop you. You raced to the door, but before you could even touch the handle Dorian grabbed your hand.
You look at him, but he shakes his head, âYou need rest. Not to go mingling about with them.â
âDorian, he didnât mean to,â Your legs gave out, and he picked you up. When he put you back on the bed, you grabbed his hand, âCan you at least check if they are alright, especially Eddie.â
When Dorian doesnât respond, you resort to puppy eyes and beg, âPlease?â
Dorian sighs and squeezes your hand, âYour heart is too big from them, luvâ.â
You thank him, and tell him youâll go rest. You go to turn the lamp off, but when you make contact with the switch it shocks you. You go to pull your hand back, but Farya is already checking your fingers, lightly touching them.
âDoes it hurt?â
You look at your shaking hands being touched by her steady one, then look at her, âI- I canât feel anything.â
She releases your hand which begins to shake even more violently. Curt and Rod get up and head to the door.
âOh those two really have their wires crossed.â
âAinât nobody mess with our friend.â
When they reach Dorian, he blocks their path, and before they could protest he gives them a look that shuts them up, âLook fellas, I know emotions are high but please, stay here with emâ. Iâll handle them, I swear.â
Curt and Rod nod and go back to your bed, Curt pulling out cards they had kept themselves busy with before you woke up.
Rod dealt the deck as Dorian closed the door behind him.
The Breaker Box had been closed for a few days after the incident with you and Volt. Eddie was against the idea, but Volt wanted him to rest and get the repairs done in a timely manner; it also gave Volt time to cool down.
Volt had regretted how rough he handled you that day, but when he saw Eddie blow a fuse he got overprotective. It was a rare thing for both of them, especially now that you joined them. When Volt got too overprotective, he boiled over to controlling and possessive, and this was the first time you had seen it. His blue flared side was something Eddie had told him to reel in, and Volt swears heâs been working on it.
Now Eddie was ignoring him as Volt refused to let him leave to check up on you. So now Volt is in the front cleaning up, while Eddie sits backstage. A loud banging on the door interrupted his thoughts.
âWeâre closed.â
âNot here for a drink.â
Volt stood up straighter and opened the door when he heard Dorianâs voice. Volt invited him in and put on his warm host persona.
âHow can I help you Dorian? You rarely come here, even when I personally invite you.â
Dorian glances around the room, âWhereâs Eddie? I need to speak with both of you.â
Volt felt his protective nature boil up again, but Eddieâs voice carried from across the room, âWhat do you want? Weâre busy right now.â
âLook I donât want to be here either, but I need to know,â Dorian glares at the two of them, âWhich one of you blokes messed with the power.â
âI beg your pardon? Weâve been here fixing the breaker.â Volt puffs out his chest as Eddie stands by his side.
âLook,â Dorian closes his eyes, âI know you lot had an argument the other day, but what you did was too far.â
Eddie moved his hand to his hip, âWhat was too far?â
âAh⌠alrighty then.â Without warning Dorian reels back and punches Volt, sending him to the ground. Eddie rushes to Voltâs side and opens his mouth to yell.
âLook, if you want answers, ask your mate here. And please do stay away from the human unless you both have a proper apology. And Iâll think of letting you see them once they recover from your little stunt.â Dorian gives Volt a pointed look before taking off.
Volt sits up and looks at Eddie confused, âWhat does he mean ârecover?â Our live wire got hurt?â
Eddie looked at the door of the bar, âYeah, they sprained their hand earlier. The one you grabbed, rather roughly.â
Volt looked down, the guilt finally catching up to him.
âWeâll go apologize to them tomorrow, for now let's deal with your face.â Eddie helps Volt up and takes him to the back to ice his face.

A/N: this is purely self indulgent. Not edited, burnout is bad enough
Things in your house had more or less calmed down power-wise since you helped Eddie and Volt reset smoothly. You did have as many of the shorts in energy when you plugged Hoove in with your tv or left too many lights on. Mostly, though, you were just happy to finally be where you felt you belongedâ-with two of your favorite people. Volt had made his affections much more evident after your aid and Eddie was even starting to warm up to your nightly visits to the best bar in the house.
It was still dark when you woke up, curling in on yourself and whining quietly as you held your abdomen. Your face scrunched in pain as you mentally pictured yourself taking the last pill in your little birth control package. Cursing, you knew you were due for anywhere between four and fourteen excruciating days where all you wanted to do was lay in bed and wish your own death.
To anyone else, it seemed extreme, so you learned to stop voicing that wish when these days hit; preferring to drill them through your mind over and over and over until you finally fell asleep or your prescription painkillers kicked in, numbing the pain just enough that you could nap through it. Nobody understood the way you felt because the people you were around hadnât experienced such excruciating pain so often in their lives.
Every month for almost half of it you were down and out. You had joined Valdivian under the pretense from Sam that they would be understanding of it. Your last job had not been able to accommodate your condition, and it had let to arguments blowing things out of proportion and extra stress that only made the everyday pain worse. Eventually, you decided you couldnât do that vicious cycle anymore. It had become too much for you to power through and the last argument had you blowing a fuse, screaming that you quit and werenât ever coming back.
You had cried to Sam in your car on the way home that day about it all. She listened diligently and said she could put in a recommendation for you at her company.
Everything had been going swimmingly until your job there hit limbo, as Tom had called it, and tinfoilhat guy had entered your life with the Dateviators. Since then, they had been upgraded with unlimited charges and were charged by a swapping of energy between the contacts and the objects they were interacting with. So long as that object wanted to be spoken with, the contacts were able to pull them into your sight.
It was a good lesson in consent, all things considered. If only it worked with real people.
You groaned, rolling onto your other side with your knees curled up, cradling your aching belly. You checked your phone, the bright, unnatural glow making you squint your eyes despite the dark background. 3:05am. If you hadnât known Betty under you wouldâve taken the brunt force of it, you wouldâve started kicking and hitting to get out some of your frustration. You hadnât even noticed the way your hand curled into a fist in your sheets as another wave of pain flared.
âSorry, BettyâŚâ She was intimately familiar with your cycle already, having bled through and had to hand wash your sheets at least once a month. Even with your precautions doubling up on pads every night, there were many nights you had to wake up and change them.
You almost swore you could hear her telling you it was alright.
You reached for the little case filled with saline and put your dateviator contacts in. You didnât really know what you planned to do this late at night, only a handful of them were usually still awake. One being Nightmare. You were sure you werenât really in the mood for her right now.
You knew who you wanted to see, of course, but you didnât want to be a bother, and you definitely did not want them fussing over you. You had handled it alone for this long, you could go a little longer by yourself. If you thought about it, it sounded silly. You wanted to go talk to your breaker boxâ-like a lunaticâ-because it made you feel better. Sam was still in disbelief that it was real, and it definitely did make you seem crazy. No one could see them without the dateviators and there was only one pair.
Hell, maybe you were hallucinating, but it was better than the alternative of being completely and utterly alone in the house, with no social life, and no desire to continue the way you were before. As crazy as this circumstance started, you wouldnât trade it for anything now. You shuddered to think what you would do if something happened to the dateviators and you had to go back to being in this big empty house alone, unable to speak with anyone that you had formed such meaningful connections with.
Still, you found yourself standing in front of the Breaker Box door. You blinked and it shifted from your actual breaker box to your favorite bar. The lights were off, and your heart sank even as you tried the handle⌠Unlocked.
Something in your chest eased as you gently pulled the door open and crept in. The room was empty and there was a discarded rag on the bar, undoubtedly from Eddie wiping it down. Hopefully, he had gone to rest instead of overworking himself again. That was fine, you could make your own drink and clean it up to be spotless and they would never know. If your boyfriends were sleeping, the least you could do was have a drink.
The first thing that came to mind was a whiskey sour. It wasnât something you normally drank, or something you used to even like. But the taste reminded you of Eddie. He was the first to make it for you. Whiskey, lemon juice, sugar, egg whites, and cherries on top.
You moved behind the bar, pulling the ingredients out and mixing it perfectly, the way Beverly had shown you in the past. You carefully poured it out of the shaker and into your own glass over ice, putting two cherries attached at the stem on top.
The presentation was exactly the way Eddie would do it for you and it sent a pang through your chest. You had just seen them earlier in the night but it didnât change how much you missed them both.
Your pain flared up again, and you clutched the edge of the bar with white knuckles. Your nose scrunched, waiting for it to pass. When it finally did, you took a sip of your drink and frowned. It didnât taste the same. You had measured everything to perfection and mixed everything properly, but it didnât taste right. You sighed, setting the glass down heavily. You didnât want to waste it, but it didnât feel worth the bad taste in your mouth.
You jumped, your head bumping someoneâs chest as hands settled on your hips. You swore your soul left your body for a moment as Voltâs voice crooned in your ear. âYouâre up early, live wire.â
Just hearing him, you relaxed into his touch, the fight or flight leaving your tensed muscles. You sighed, briefly allowing yourself to close your eyes as you drank in his warm energy. He leaned his head down to kiss your crown, his white hair lighter than downy feathers and tingling slightly against your cheek.
âDonât let Eddie see you making your own drinks,â he teased. You huffed a quiet laugh.
âIt wasnât worth it anyway.â You held it up to him.
Carefully, he plucked the cherries off the top, his other hand lightly gripping your neck and pulling your chin down with his thumb. Your lips parted as he dangled the cherries in front of you, and you tilted your head back to welcome them into your mouth. You heard a small grunt escape him as your lips wrapped around the stems and pulled the fruit free. He flicked the stems onto the bar, lightly holding your throat until you leaned forward to spit the cherry pits into the trash.
You could see the pink dusting Voltâs cheeks from the light of his hair as he knocked back your drink like it was a cold shower. You couldnât help but grin, knowing exactly the kind of effect you had on him.
The joy was short lived as your uterus twisted painfully. Your breath whooshed out as you doubled over against the bar, gripping it like your life depended on it. It certainly felt as though it did.
âSpark, whatâs wrong?â The obvious concern in Voltâs tone did nothing but embarrass you.
âIâm fine, itâll pass in a moment.â
Voltâs hands hovered in the air, as though worried he had somehow hurt you. Slowly, the tension in your hands and back released and the wave crashed leaving only the aftermath. Exhaustion.
You breathed a sigh, slumping forward against the bar. You put your head in your hands, Volt hesitantly reaching for your shoulder.
âWhatâs happened?â Another familiar voice came from your left as Eddie descended the stairs, rubbing his callused hands with a rag.
âNothing, Iâm fine,â you snapped.
âSure, and Iâm Mayor Celia,â Eddie replied drily.
âLive wire, whatever it is, you know you can tell us anything.â Volt said softly, gently massaging your shoulder.
You stood up straight, shrugging him off. âI told you Iâm fine. Itâs nothing to worry yourselves over.â You took a deep breath, fighting to push away the accusatory, hostile tone. âIâm sorry, Iâm okay, please just donât make a big deal about it.â
Volt and Eddie glanced between each other. Volt hesitantly spoke. âAll right, little spark, but at the first sign that something is wrong we want to know.â
You couldâve laughed at that if he wasnât so seriously worried about you. Nothing had been right ever. It was just something you had to endure. But you nodded anyway.
Everything was tense and silent for long enough that you caved and the words just started spilling from your mouth. âI have something called endometriosis. This is all going to sound like gibberish to you because objects donât have some of the human anatomy. Normally, every month for about a week, a woman will bleed from her vagina.â It was easier not to look at them while you explained it, though you had given up on censoring anything long ago. They would get the full ugly truth.
You watched their faces as they took in your words, gradually becoming more horrified as you spoke. âThatâs⌠considered normal?â
âItâs normal, and part of how people reproduce. But for me⌠I cramp most of the days in a month. And Iâll bleed anywhere between one and two weeks. It would be more without my birth controlâ-my medicine. But itâs⌠excruciating, to put it lightly. Cramps come and go in waves, sometimes just lasting for hours at a time. I just started today.â
âIs that why youâre awake so early? Because youâre in pain?â Volt had a sympathetic, pouting expression on his face, immediately winding his arms around your waist and holding you close. âSpark, you should have said.â
âThatâs the most horrifying thing Iâve ever heard,â Eddie said, approaching the two of you. âAnd you shouldnât be alone with it.â You could feel the redness in his cheeks as you cupped his face between your hands.
âI always have, and people donât take it seriously. Doctors barely take it seriously. I got lucky that mine did and was able to prescribe me extra strong pain pills that arenât available in a drug store. But really, even that barely scratches the surface.â
âThatâs ridiculous,â Voltâs energy created static in the air as he became frustrated on your behalf. âItâs clear how painful it is, and Iâve been around all of five minutes compared to your life.â
âYeah, Iââ you were cut off with a groan as your abdomen clenched, every muscle in your stomach cramping with it. âFuck!â You said with a strangled voice.
âSpark!â Volt pulled you so that you fell into him rather than the counter, and you were grateful for the warmth he provided.
âSorry, Iâm sorry,â you panted out as you squeezed your eyes shut, hands clenched in the lapels of his jacket. You buried your head in his chest and he held the back of it gently, rubbing your back with his free hand.
âDon't you dare apologize for something you canât control.â You felt Eddie as he approached behind you, leaving you effectively sandwiched between the two men. Not that you were complaining or would ever complain about it, but this wasnât quite what you had in mind when you made that joke.
Your body shook with the effort of keeping you upright, and you slumped completely against Volt, who held you without issue. Tears welled in your eyes from frustration and fatigue.
You sniffled and Volt pulled back just enough to see your face. He held your cheeks, wiping the tears away as they fell. âOh, SparkâŚâ
âIâm so tired of this,â you cried. You knew you had that whine of exhaustion in your voice, but you didnât care. You were exhausted and there was no one better to take care of you than them.
âWhat can we do?â Eddie asked from behind you, gently rubbing your upper arms.
In truth, there wasnât much if anything that could help. It took some time for the tears to stop flowing and for your breathing to even out before you spoke. âBed. And⌠maybe some medicine.â
Without another word, Volt hooked his arms under your knees and carried you princess style. Your arms wrapped around his shoulders, tucking your nose into the crook of his neck and taking deep breaths.
âEasy, live wire. Iâve got you.â You nodded, letting your eyes drift shut. It was easy for your mind to settle tucked into him like this.
You were vaguely aware when Volt put you into your bed and knelt beside you, brushing your hair out of your face. He leaned forward, pressing his lips softly against yours before moving to press them to your forehead.
Eddie came in a few minutes later holding your prescription bottle and a glass of water from the bar with ice in it. âHere,â he perched on the edge of the bed, holding them out to you.
Volt helped you sit up enough to take the pills, chugging the glass of water before laying back. As Volt moved to stand, you caught the copper coils around his wrist.
He smiled softly. âIâm not going anywhere, little spark.â He shrugged his jacket off, haphazardly throwing it to the floor before slipping out of his pants and shoes and climbing into bed beside you.
A moment later, the bed dipped and you knew Eddie was behind you, curling against your back. You tucked yourself into Voltâs chest, allowing yourself the moment of rest. It wouldnât be the first time youâd fallen asleep without removing the dateviators and it likely wouldnât be the last.
When you woke up, they were gone, but there was a fresh glass of water that still had ice in it and a carefully folded piece of paper. Your painkillers were closed, but two pills rested next to the glass. You picked them up and took them quickly before reading the piece of paper.
Weâll always take care of you.
Our live wire.
