"That...sounds like a whole hell of a lot really." Maybe a bit more then she was bargaining for upon asking the question for in the first place. But really she should've started expecting it more. Not everyone was going to be living a "normal" life in Japan like the ywere.
"I guess it might've seemed like a pretty good thing at first. I mean having everything organized by you sounds like a dream for some. But being a pet well, that's a line for most people. Including myself."
At least she hoped Kaguya didn't think she was being dragged around. Even if it was her choice to start the whole thing in the first place...
"Wait "old human" texts? How advanced was your stuff to begin with?"
"It was normal. Being a pet, I mean. My 'birthday' on my idol profile is February 14th, but that's because I was a present for my guardian's wife on that day." He shrugs, seeming nonchalant about the entire thing. Entirely too nonchalant, he imagines.
"Assigning a timeline becomes more problematic," he gestures with his index finger in the air, drawing a line. "Where I'm from, aliens had taken over humanity for a long time. Far longer than I've been born. We are owned by them, worship their 'god'."
He considers this, tilting his head, "Maybe not to different in that regard as other human societies, but my guardian and his wife were interested in old human texts. I've read a lot, but the concepts of where in time this all took place, concepts like 'Before Christ', or 'Anno Domini' are difficult to contextualize when you don't know exactly when those are."
Maybe saying that it was "a whole lot" might've been the understatement of the century. It really sounded like something right out of a manga or comic about a world that ended. Yet she could tell just by his voice alone that he wasn't kidding at all. How he managed to stay sane was anyone's guess, but it was commendable compared to how she'd no doubt react.
"...Yeah I guess if you never heard of them it wouldn't make a lick of sense regardless of how smart you are. It'd be like trying to teach someone a new language without someone knowing how to talk in the first place." Sure one could try but everything else would just seem out of place or confusing without the proper context.
"Aliens taking over though, I mean I met one before." Iroha said without mentioning she fell for her and the same in return. "But the others that came were only there for that person. Can't really imagine if they tried to go further then that."
