"Oh?" Zeus seemed surprised, but could he be blamed? Hades had always been so logical, so down to the point. If the matter did not relate to rulings, what could it be? He doubted it was a visit, as strong as the bond between the three brothers was. "     Do tell."

"As you wish my Lord. Also Lady Hera insisted on having some of your time today as well. I tried to contact you after she came but you seemed to be … otherwise occupied." Ganymede said watching his lord from the corner of his eyes. It could be so difficult to tell where Lord Zeus and his Lady stood with each other from any given hour to any given century. 

"Of course," Zeus replied. Currently, it was Hera who brought the arctic winds with her when she walked, so Zeus had (naturally) been leaving her to her mood and otherwise occupying himself. Of course, that only tended to make it worse. "I will be sure to see her today, then." The king replied warily, closing his eyes for just a moment. "is there anything else I must know?"

It was all written on his face, the paranoia, the  doubt, the hesitation— To Hera, Zeus did not look like a man prepared for the joys of fatherhood. As goddess of women Hera had seen this doubt in many families; she was first witness  the anguish it caused when a man did not want to be a father. It always pained her to see how her followers would pray for change and relief, but somethings were written fate and everyone knew fate was resolute. Hera bowed her head in pursuit to mask her disappointment with respect. ” I’m glad her ladies in waiting are there for her, but from my experience woman often want to be with their husbands when they are with child. This is to create a bond…a family.”  She urged,  hoping that Zeus  saw the  connotations behind her words. “Of course, please ask away.”
