He should have stayed on the boat. Life hadnât been much safer out there in exile, but he had gone 6 years before something happened whereas one day back in Calamity and he was being threatened by a demon at knifepoint. Leo truly hated this god-awful city. âWhat can I say, I figured people were civilised these days, my mistake.â Leo rolled his eyes with a sigh. If she wasnât a demon heâd have siren-songed her ass right out of his face and off the nearest bridge. He was an excellent sweet-talker. But alas, demons had to go and be even more frustrating than they already where.Â
The ex-noble was no fool, a vial of his blood used by the right witch could do some serious damage to himself and potentially Andrew if said witch knew what they were doing. Hopefully the demon wasnât smart enough to find the right witch or the right spell where it would actually effect Andrew, but instead stay tied to Leo. They might be identical twins, but they were still different peopleâŚOr so Leo hoped. Let whatever sinister plans they had end with Leo and not effect his brother. âHalf a vial, and Iâll do it myself thank you.â He said, holding out his hand for the vial and the dagger to give her what she wanted. He knew he had some leeway to bargain with considering if she wanted the blood she wasnât prepared to kill him straight away otherwise sheâd have stabbed him and been on her way.Â
Were all merfolk such fools? Corvina wondered. No wonder they had preferred to stay under the sea. Glaring at the âkingâ, the wrathbearer pulled out one of the empty vials from her pockets and removed the knife she held at his neck. If Cora had really wanted to, she would have not given the merfolk the choice of doing it himself but instead just have slit his wrist-or whatever body part she wanted-and gotten as much as she pleased. But who knew? Maybe spells would work better if blood had been given willingly and without restrain?
Smirking, the wrathbearer handed him the vial and then slap the knife onto his open waiting palm-not being gentle at all. âWise choice.â Were the only words that she spoke as she waited patiently for the blood to fill the vial-half way. Now the tricky part would be, of course, to find the witch. But, that was no longer her problem. Corvina knew exactly who she would give this blood to for she had little to no need for it.
Unfortunately for the demon, Corvina had no idea this wasnât actually the king as they finally went their own way in Calamity. Alas, only time would tell what chaos this blood would truly bring.

oftragxdyâ:
Demitri stared down at the dying Demon, a sadistic smile playing on his lips. Let me watch the life fade from your eyes⌠The bloodlust that he had kept at bay for the last couple of weeks, finally out and showing itself once more. He knew exactly what he needed to do to seal his win, to seal Corvinaâs fate.Â
oftragxdyâ:
Demitri let out a hiss as the otherâs hands burned him. âFucking bitch.â He hissed, shoving her further into the ground with his grip. He refused to let go of her, fearing that if she did, she might get one last shot at him. No. You need this. You needed this. Kill her. Kill them all. The rage he had been feeling over the course of the last couple of weeks was boiling inside of him now as he stared down at the Demon.Â
He flinched as she coughed, her blood dotting his face. âGood girl.â He hissed as he then moved his hands to wrap around her throat. She would weaken quickly and he knew that. He began tightening his fingers around her neck. âAny last words, Corvina?â He asked, his eyes that were now filled with rage, staring down at her as he squeezed her neck tighter. Thereâs only one way to truly get rid of a DemonâŚÂ
It was a fight to the end indeed. The moment Corvina Alkera had stepped foot into the ring, she knew and accepted she would never concede-it wasnât in her nature-it wasnât her.
But 600 years or so was a decent run for her-of course the demon would have preferred to keep on living but, what was done was done. As the liquid ran and burned down her throat, her insides caved and squeezed and did their best to reject the poison of holy water and salt that invaded her body. But this was something the demon couldnât heal herself from-no matter her age or how powerful she had been.
While Corvinaâs black eyes disappeared and her striking blue ones reappeared as her shape between a demon and human faded and shifted, she watched the vampireâs eyeâs closely. Watched the eyes of the creature who had cheated-who had found a way to guarantee his win. Watched a man who had eyes that reminded her of someone-of something in particular. Forcing her throat to work her last words up, the demon only managed to say one last sentence, âWhat gorgeous ripper eyes you have,â before gasping what little breath she had left from his tightening grip on her throat and finally slumping to the ground.
oftragxdyâ:
Demitri rushed towards her, catching her ankle and shoving her back down to the ground. He grabbed ahold of her shirt, shoving her even harder into the dirt. His teeth bared at her, a sadistic smile forming on his lips as his crazed eyes met hers. âA secret about myself.â A laugh erupted from his lips as he leaned down towards her. His lips were just inches from her right ear.Â
âIâll tell you a secret, babyâŚâ He cooed into her ear. This is it. He freed one hand from her, reaching around to pull a vial out of his pocket. âIâm no ordinary vampireâŚâ He continued, holding the vial that was filled with holy water mixed with salt. âI do my research on every single speciesâŚâ His lips brushed against her ear. âTheir strengthsâŚâ He whispered. âAnd weaknesses.â In less than a second, he used his vampiric speed to lift himslef up, a hand grabbing at her jaw and yanking her mouth open. He uncorked the vial and shoved it into her mouth, slamming her mouth shut. âAnd your weakness, my darling, is something much simpler than what I had anticipated.â He held her mouth shut, forcing her head to tilt back against the ground. âBe a good girl and swallow for me.â Though, he knew it wouldnât matter if she willingly did it or not. The liquid would be dripping down her throat at this point.
âIâm not your ba-â Corvinaâs words were cut short. All of her words were cut short. The crack of the vial in her mouth from her teeth caused the demon to panic. Noooo....that fucking cheating bastard! Her thoughts screamed. Though the demon had done the mistake of opening her mouth wide enough to let such vial slip through. If only she had kept her god damn mouth shut and not have that pet-peeve of being called baby. If only you had just used your powers sooner Corvina.
The excruciating pain suddenly began in her mouth and drifted to her throat no matter how much Corvina struggled to open her mouth again or keep it from going down faster. Her rage was pure now and her wrath was exploding from the inside out. The hands that held against Demitriâs hold suddenly grew hot with the flames that came out of them-but the demon knew that vampires healed rather quickly-it wouldnât matter how deep the burns would be, Corvina hated that with what he had just done to her, he wouldnât risk letting go of her until the job was finished-his arms be damned.
All the demon could do was groan and keep pushing against his hold, until finally, finally there was nothing left to do but swallow the vial and the little liquid that hadnât already passed through her throat and cough up her demon blood into his face. âBastard....â

With one last look at the vial, Azagi tucked the vial away safely into her inner jacket pocket, a grin slowly coming to her lips as she listened to Corvina. She had no idea why the demon would go to such lengths for her, but it proved the loyalty sheâd been craving ever since Zyler had sunk his little white light into her. âYouâre a genius, Cora, but why so much effort for little old me? Feeling protective over me?â She asked with a smirk, moving to wrap her arms around the other wrathbearer for a quick tight hug. âI appreciate this, thank you. Youâve likely just saved my life if they ever do track it down to me.âÂ
Perhaps she should speak to Evanora; the demon had a respect for her and perhaps if she were lucky it would be returned. If not, she would go to Lylia but she didnât much want to implicate somebody that she cared about. If something happened to Evanora it would be unfortunate, but thatâs all it would be to her⌠If something happened to Lylia she would tear Calamity apart to avenge her. âYou wanna know what I plan on doing? Tie it to his entire bloodline. Something specific would have to set it off so that it wasnât triggered by accident but it would mean that his entire family, siblings and heirs included, would perish. Besides, Iâm not above giving up the person that actually did the most damage⌠Iâd just prefer not to.âÂ
Frozen in her spot, Corvina didnât quite know how to react to the hug and affection Azagi was giving her. Corvina was....simply not one to show affection in any way. But, for this single time, the woman decided it wouldnât hurt to mimic her sisters actions and returned a short and gentle hug. âHonestly, it didnât require all that much effort-a little disappointed in the lack of fight in that man but,â Cora shrugged letting the thought go and continued on, âI still took what I wanted in the end.â She then narrowed her black eyes at Azagi and couldnât help but let a soft smile show on her face, âOf course Iâm protective of those that actually matter and count Azagi.â I just never show it, she thought. âJust make sure not to screw that gift up.â She teased with a wink.
Hearing her demonâs ideas on what she planned on doing with the blood pleased Corvina and reassured her that she had indeed given it to the one who could do something about it when it came down to it. Shifting back to her sharp blue eyes and raven hair, Corvinaâs smile turned into a wicked smirk. âSounds like youâre on the right track with that idea of yours sister. And Iâm sure you have your reasons to protect or not give up the demon really responsible,â the wrathbeaer paused as she zipped up her jacket and shoved her hands into the pockets, before giving Azagi one last look, âBut donât ever say I never gave you something or wasnât there for you when it really counts. Got it?â
sirenxsongâ:
Leo was unfortunately not much of a fighter, despite his fianceâs attempts to teach him over the years. He was however, an excellent water manipulator, quite deadly with the stuff in fact, but sadly they werenât exactly by a body of water he could make use of. Still, this wasnât the first knife heâd ever had pulled on him, thank you dear old dad, and by some dumb luck Leo had been the one to come away from that altercation with his life. Blood was on his hands and it ate at the mer every day, but he wouldnât give the demon the satisfaction of using him as some kind of pawn against his brother. No, heâd let her kill him first, then watch her face from whatever afterlife he got when she realised âoops stabbed the wrong oneâ.Â
The drag of the knife down his back made the ex-noble stand up a little straighter, Poseidon he should have stayed on the damn boatâŚÂ But before Leo could relax she was in front of him, knife at his throat. âThen why in the world are you threatening me if not for attention darling? Seems pretty contradictory if you ask me.â He rolled his eyes at her, maybe not the smartest move, but when had Leo ever been smart? He swallowed, feeling his skin against the blade. Fucking great...A deal with a demon was sure to bite him in the ass later, or Andrew more likely and that worried Leo more. âIâm listening.â He sighed.Â
The demon didnât hold her eyeroll back at the word âdarlingâ and instead pushed the knife a little furtherer into his neck. âEvery kind on this land and under threaten one another-donât act as if itâs the opposite.â Corvinaâs eyes narrowed as she stared at âthe kingâ and found this all to be too easy. Somethings not right here Cora... Her thoughts whispered. But easy or not, the demon wasnât going to waist an opportunity.
Thankfully, the woman had recently acquired three vials: two filled with sleeping potions and one empty incase she needed to lesson the dosage of one of her victims. One is all you need. âSo you do value your life....and yet you go walking into town without protection.â Tilting her head to the side again, she finally said, âThe deal and trade is simple. A vial of your blood in exchange for me not killing you. You give me that, and Iâll disappear to let you continue on complaining about how this town is in ruins. Think about it, a vial is nothing compared to me stabbing this knife right through your heart in the next few seconds if you donât agree.â
oftragxdyâ:
Demitri knew that the other would use her disappearing act to do something, but he had hoped that he had enough time to start his plan before she did. However, it didnât happen. She disappeared from underneath him, causing him to blink and let out a growl. âCowarââ He began to say, but was cut off by a sharp pain that radiated through his neck.Â
A knife, clever.
A hiss escaped his lips as he turned around, not caring where the knife ended up going. He had endured much worse than this. His eyes flickered up to look at Corvina, and suddenly, he saw Jessie.Â
Demitri grabbed the woman by the throat again and threw her across the ring. He shook his head back and forth. Get in the fucking game. He chastised himself as he then began to advance towards Corvina. âI assume that youâre interested in finding out more about your little Demon friend.â
âIâm no fucking cow-â Corvinaâs words were cut short as this vampires strength pulled through and had managed to throw her back to the ground. The demon still laughed and shook her head, wondering, and letting herself decide to not vanish as often and have fun with ânormalâ strikes between the two of them.
But the wrathbearer had decided not to disappear at the wrong time. Even with her speed, the vampire had been able to catch an ankle of hers only to roughly push her down again. Glaring at Dem as Corvina kept pulling herself free from his grasp, she finally said, âYou assume wrong....again. But, tell me a secret about yourself....maybe then Iâd be more inclined to listen Demitri.â
oftragxdyâ:
Demitri hadnât expected her to grab him and throw him, but he was laughing from the moment he fell to the ground. âSo your solution is to throw me away from you?â He asked, glancing up to notice her charging at him. He let out a satisfied hiss, his fangs protruding from his mouth as he got to his feet and charged at her.Â
He moved a hand, wrapping it quickly around her neck and slamming her into the ground. âAzarius has lost.â A lie or not, he was saying with such confidence as if it were true. âOr else I wouldnât be here, fighting you.â He spat, straddling her and holding her into the ground. He needed just an extra moment â just one quick second to do what he had planned.Â
He tightened his grip around her throat, lifting her head up and then slamming it onto the ground as hard as he could. âI need you to listen, Corvinaââ He said, his voice eerily calm. âI have a secret to tell you about Azarius.âÂ
âMy solution is to kill you honey!â The demon spat his ring name smirking until Cora was on her back laughing at the slam she got from the vampire. Feeling her throat quickly close, Corvina immediately disappeared. Once her form appeared, it was right to Demitriâs back as she slammed her knife deeply into his spine. Right...down...the...middle.... Her thoughts ordered-orders she was happy to comply with as her black eyes watched the knife slide from the back of his neck down to his waist.
âYou assume I care too much about my fellow demons Dem....I care very little for them.â While those words were half lies, Cora was indeed interested in seeing if this vampire did hold a secret about Azarius, but would she admit it that very second? Of course not.
oftragxdyâ:
âAnd why would you think he left me?â Demitri asked, moving forward slightly as he watched her every move. âIs it really that unbelievable that I beat him?â In all honesty, him and Azarius had been pinned against one another on several occasions. They were both ruthless and stubborn enough to not give up. Which was why he wasnât necessarily worried that he was against this Demon.
The moment she uttered his new nickname, the one that Jack had given him, he sped forward, sharpened spoon in between his right fingers as he threw a punch at her face; simultaneously placing a foot behind her legs, waiting for her to back up into it so that he could force her to the ground. That was part of the plan, anyway. Whether it was going to happen or not, he wasnât sure yet.Â
Corvina winced at the the sharp edge scrapping her cheek-the demon having been just a few seconds too slow in moving her face. They always went for the damn face. Instead of going for an arm, a leg, the stomach. Oh Iâm sure youâll get to that soon too Cora; and people wondered why Cora always carried around a bruised face in town.
Smirking and ignoring the drops of blood coming down her cheek, Corvina did indeed lean back. With her body moving half back, the demon managed to knock his other foot in the process before disappearing and reappearing standing-all in time to catch his leg coming up midair. From there she didnât hesitate to grab his leg and throw Demitri to the other side. âAzarius wouldnât loose....And neither will I.â Clearly not caring if he landed or stayed on the ground, Cora charged after him.

deathbeckonsâ:
Quick reflexes caught the vial, brows furrowing as she examined it. When Azagi looked back up, Corvina was much closer to her as her mind tried to process whatever it was that the other wrathbearer was trying to tell her. âYeah, correct.â She would play along, knowing that Cor was speaking like that for the sake of privacy and any potential eavesdroppers, but she wasnât quite on the ball enough to figure out what it meant. She had an inkling, though. âCorvina what have you done?â Azagi questioned, shaking the contents of the vial, âIs this blood? Have you made some sort of power move, sister?â The only thing that she could think of was the other had captured the Mer King, but surely they would have heard about that by now; then again, letting everyone know the King was missing would show weakness. No, this couldnât be that⌠Was she missing something? âListen, thereâs no one else around and youâre going to have to spell this out for me a little bit better because I donât understand you when you talk in code.âÂ
She was sure whatever it was would be useful to her, to say the very least but her mind was so full of traumaâs the Corvina couldnât even imagine sheâd been through recently that she had clearly lost a little bit of her edge. âPlainer words, please. My mind canât handle thinking deeper into any more meanings. I do that enough with the one you hate so much.âÂ
The demon laughed then and shook her head at her sister. Taking a few steps back to lean back against the pillar, Cora answered, âI did no such thing Azagi. I simply got leverage-sort of. It all depends on how you want to use it.â Putting her knife away, the woman crossed her arms and looked at Azagi once more. âSimple words? Okay fine sister of mine, lets see if you understand this.â
She stopped and pointed to the vial Az held. âThat right there is the Kings blood. Use it however you want. But, if youâre smart youâll get a witch to help you somehow for making sure that even if you are found guilty of stabbing the king, you can-well just get creative. I suppose itâll also depend on what the witch will help you with but the point is: you now have the kings blood in a vial. If they come after you some way, then you have a way to fight back. Another way other than just using your knives-a way that could also involve others from that bloodline if the king has any future hiers or I guess siblings somewhere hiding under the seaweed.â She paused and then shrugged. âI highly doubt theyâll want to put their king at risk and have to go through a whole wedding again.â
deathbeckonsâ:
âActually, Corvina, he got me some chocolateâs like the meatsacks do and we went to dinner.â Azagi replied, brow raised at the clearly low expectations that the other had of her boyfriend. âI have lived too long to give a shit about these human holidays. I came out with more than I was expecting.â Because she was expecting nothing, but then again she also gave nothing but dinner once she realised that Lan had been the one to make the effort. âHeâs still here, Cor. Donât sound too upset about it though.â She teased the other, a small smirk staying on her features. She could understand the mistrust, and wouldnât say too much about it⌠At least until she found out what it was Corvina had for her.
âWhat sort of question is that? There is no one who I would give my life for, you know that.â It was a slight lie, with Ragnar back in the picture, but that was different and Corvina didnât know much about their relationship so Azagi didnât expect her to know. âSurvival of the fittest, Corvina. You know that. Even against my favourite female demon. Now stop playing games and tell me whatever it is you summoned me here to tell me.âÂ
âWow, what a gentleman.â The wrathbearer replied simply with yet another eye roll and threw her finished cigarette to the ground.Iâve lived too long... The thoughts roamed around in Coraâs head now knowing she was in complete agreement with that statement. And yet, she didnât have what her demon sister had. Jealousy doesnât suit you Cora, her thoughts yelled and she bit her tongue hard enough to draw blood. Mentally telling herself to shut up, she quickly used her reserves to heal her wound and listened to Azagiâs response.
Pleased with hearing it, and that she was indeed her favorite female demon still, Cora chuckled. âWonderful. Music to me ears Azagi. Make sure that mentality doesnât waver in the future.â The woman warned before slipping her hand into her leather jacket pocket and pulled out a vial. âLast I heard....the King stabbing demons havenât been caught yet, correct?â Giving the vial one last look, Corvina then lifted it and tossed it to her sister, knowing that with their demon quick reflexes, neither one of them would let it drop. âI have to admit....stabbing him on the streets would have been much more fun. But....him alive might suit you-,â she paused and reappeared right in front of her then staring Azagi right into her eyes, âand only you Azagi, a better purpose in the future. Understand? Iâd hate to hear that you came in second place for anything again when it comes to going against the fish that live under the water.â
deathbeckonsâ:
Azagi wasnât the type to drop everything and go someplace just because she was told to, but for once someone had intrigued her enough that she would at least entertain Corvina for a moment or two in this rare time that she had to herself between Lan, Ragnar and her playthings. Besides, it wasnât often Corvina called on her anymore; the least she could do was attend.Â
Once she got her favourite knives attached to her outfit, she dissipated the short distance to the Ruins of Battles Past. It was a strange place for the other to pick, but she had mentioned not wanting any eavesdroppers and this was a good way to ensure that.Â
She walked through the ruins, sensing Coraâs presence and following it until she found the female. Arms crossed against her chest, brow raised almost expectantly as she looked over the other, âThat definitely sounds like a good plan for the rest of my day. Is this some sort of late Valentineâs Day present for me, Corvina?â Azagi asked with a smirk, allowing her glamours to fall enough that her own demon eyes would show, horns on display.Â
Cora raised an eyebrow at her sister in disbelief. âA Valentineâs gift Azagi? You saying that asshole of a demon you care so much about didnât take care of your needs? Didnât spoil you with enough presents?â She paused and put on a fake and surprised smile, âOh wait! Tell me youâre expecting a gift because you need some cheering up due to him finally leaving again? Is that it?â Corvinaâs voice was sarcastic as she inhaled another breath from her cigarette and shook her head at her sister. You sure sheâs the best person to have this? Of course she is, the demonâs thoughts argued.
Giving her head one last shake, Corvina held her hand up at whatever Azagi was saying or about to continue to say before this whole thing went a different way then Cora had planned it to. âLook, I have places to be also and unlike you, Iâm not expecting anything, much less gifts, from anyone. Whether itâs a deadly knife or something else Iâd enjoy.â She paused and looked down at her knife twirling in between her free hand before going on, âAnswer me one question though sister: you will still choose yourself over any one of our demon brothers and sisters correct? Minus Lan-heâll find a way to fuck up sooner or later. So donât count him into the equation.â
Location: Ruins of Battles Past Territory: Eastside
Corvina, a wrathbearer demon, didnât care about anyone else. Liar. Corvina didnât care to help anyone else. Liar. And Corvina was always thinking ahead. Not a lie.
So, thatâs what had brought her to deciding Azagi, her wrathbearer sister, was the best creature who would....be most capable of dealing with this knew knowledge. Or at least thatâs what Corvina hoped for. As long as that idiot of a boyfriend doesnât mess with her head any more than he already has, her thoughts roared. But, she knew there was little she could do in that area. Cora also knew, Azagi could handle herself and her problems better then most in Calamitous. Again, at least thatâs what she had hoped and seen so far.
Rolling her head in a circle after lighting a cigarette, Corvina leaned back against one of the broken pillars. She looked up to the broken ceiling and smirked as she sensed her sibling before seeing her. âDonât worry sister, this wonât take long. You can go right back to stabbing your playthings.â Standing up straight, her black demon eyes finally met Azagiâs. @deathbeckonsâ

Demons were and always would be creepy. They were all so smug and while Leo knew he was absolutely a sassy bitch most of the time, he had some redeeming qualities. What did demons have? If she really did think he was Andrew and stabbed him âagainâ, well it was better it was Leo who got shanked than the actual King. âIâm sure youâre going to enlighten me whether I give a damn what you have to say or not right? You seem like the kind of girl who needs the attention.â Leo rolled his eyes. Was he scared? Maybe a little, he didnât want to get stabbed, he was too perfect for it really, but it was better she thought him the King and then jokes on her when she finds out heâs not.Â
âAttention?â The raven haired demon scoffed and rolled her eyes behind him. This idiot really didnât fight back did he. No wonder my sister and Az had been able to stab him so easily. With a knife now twirling in her hand, she pressed it down his back knowing that a quick push and twist into his back wound cause a lot of pain. But perhaps....Smirking at a new idea, Corvina reappeared in front of him now with her knife against his neck and a hand grabbing his hair gently with a smirk. âOut of everyone in this hellhole, Iâm the one who never seeks any attention. Lets get that straight first. Now, I have a better idea. How about a deal for your life? Surly you know how easy it would be for me to end it right here.â

Azagi: Must be juicy, then
Azagi: Sure, meet you there.
Corvina: đ Oh it's definitely something
Corvina: See you there.
