blood and ichor splattered her body, and every inch she moved made her feel even grosser than before. she’s never been in a real fight before, let alone a battle like that. it was so much different than training with julian. now, as she descends, still clad in a tank top, stepping into the deep bathtub. she’s so thankful to have clary. her own parents are dead, and she has no siblings, but at least, for the time being, she has clary. she isn’t sure what she’d do without the older girl. 

❝ thank you, clary. ❞ she says, leaning her head down as she covers herself in the warm water. she tugs at the hem of her tank top, but doesn’t want to remove it. the scratches and scraps that line her torso make her queasy. it’s the price she pays for being a shadowhunter, but this battle… this was intense, and she thinks if she doesn’t look at the remnants, it didn’t really happen.
