That way, the Chocobros are flying slightly more under the radar instead of being fully decked out in royal colors. Potentially fewer people would know who they are while they're in something other than full fatigues. The whole game is almost more about some guy's random adventures than it is about a prince and his royal aspirations. Makes it more relatable, yeah?

Plus, if we're being real? They're much more aesthetically pleasing that way, and the jackets are 'ehh' at best in my book. They make for an odd silhouette, especially Noctis. And, hey, who gave Prompto a Sasuke jacket, I just wanna talk.
