Summary: Supernatural Creatures AU. Them/Them Reader. In a world Where you’re more likely to win the lottery than be born as an angel, Corpse hit the jackpot. The only problem is being an angel kind of really sucks. All the cool parts of being an angel tend to draw attention, and he’d really rather not, especially since he definitely doesn’t fit the stereotype, which tends to be a problem. You also don’t fit the stereotype of an angel, but he doesn’t know if you’re actually an angel, or if that’s just a hunch he has.
Not that it’s anyone’s business, but you’re a demon. No-one needs to know that, especially since it’s not like you commit arson or encourage terrible behaviour the way everyone expects demons to do. You’re a musician, using your free time during the pandemic to work on your next album, as well as getting back to the YouTube channel you started at the age of 16. You’re learning to adapt to the times, which of course means making new friends while playing the smash hit videogame Among Us. What’s the worst that could happen?
A/N: 9183 words. Reader in the fic is stated to be 24. So the timeline’s been massaged a LITTLE bit and everyone got into Among Us and became friends maybe a few months earlier than they actually did irl, but suspend your disbelief. sorry if this is all just kinda exposition-y, i promise it’s all going somewhere.

For each and every day that passes, Corpse wishes that he could have been something halfway normal; a vampire would at least make sense, would be easier to explain, would have meant a halfway normal life for at least a few years. Being a siren would have helped his music, probably. Being a demon would have at least afforded him a cool aesthetic. Instead, he was born an Angel, a one-in-a-billion chance, to a family, in a loose sense of the word, of humans. For all that he had benevolent powers of healing bestowed upon him, they, along with quite a few of the powers and abilities he’d discovered himself to have, were unable to be used on himself. Being an angel did very little to stop his body from actively revolting against him at seemingly every chance, which at this point felt like a cruel joke by the universe. Who in the fuck had ever heard of a chronically ill angel? No one. Truly one of a kind. Fucking great.
