―  who came first was always a question many would ask. did it matter when God and feyrha came into existence ? who came first ? they just are and their very presence can be enough to frightened all. older than creation itself and alongside god, they helped him create earth along with their first child, the phoenix, as god created his children. Angels and humans whom she cared for at one point given the fact that it was her brother's creations ... but not enough to care when her own creations were killing them .

―   feyrah was normally content to uphold the natural order in which her children and his killed each other in turn.  something god was not happy about. calling them monsters and if her children were monsters so were his. Not because of their genetics or what they looked like, or because of their upbringing alone, but because sometimes human places, create inhuman monsters. His children were not innocent either.

― stab the body and it heals, but injure the heart and the wound lasts many lifetime . Betraying his sister and imprisoning her in what goes by many names, with "Purgatory" just being the most commonly known. a cage made just for her in what god sees her as. like the backside of his worst nightmares. all blood and bone and darkness. Filled with the bodies and souls of all things hungry, sharp, and nasty.

―  for millennials they ruled purgatory. worshipped and loved until monsters began to forget where they came from. Not a mother to them and many would fight and kill for the power you had over purgatory and those still loyal. After all, the strong eat the weak. many knew where to stand in this chain meant to drive you to insanity. Feyrah protected her children who sought her out and killed those whom sought to kill others.

― fortunately for them, the dragons who still prayed and worshipped her on the other side and wanted their mother back walking among them. sacrificing virgin souls to bring her out of her prison and back to earth — feyrah found a way to return to their original form .  

―  so much had changed and due to her imprisonment, feyrah had no knowledge or understanding of how God's universe worked . Learning on what has become of her children and his. After all this time most were still killing one another. hunting one another down. She sees the world as unfit. and questioned her brother's creations and ruling. not only does her monsters suffer but so did most of his creations. humans getting the worse of them all. However, part of them also wants to destroy everything that her brother had created.

― another part has no interest in her brother's world or the conflict it has . Feyrah simply wants to make a world where nobody ( her children ) had to suffer, and instead lived blissfully for eternity .

―  the Valak family , as such an old family , have a great deal of wealth and history through out the shadowhunter world. the date is unknown when the family came to be , but they are recorded to have originated in Idris. Silas Valak was a fierce Shadowhunter warrior and well feared as he had no empathy for the downwolders or mundanes .

―   throughout history, the valaks were known for their snobbish attitudes and disdain towards Downworlders and mundanes. Over time, however, they have become more tolerant and accepting of Downworlders .

― by the 1900's, Vladimir Valak had a son with his wife, Kara. When Kara was kidnapped and killed , it was widely believed that their son died with her , but the child was saved and raised among mundanes. Because of this, the line of Valak lived on without the Clave's knowledge and vladimir believed his line would end with him until he discovered his son , viktor , to be alive by the time the boy turned 21 .

―  somewhat forced to live among Nephilim , viktor , was soon trained to be a shadowhunter and given the pressure of continuing on the valak bloodline . viktor , of course , played his part. Dutiful shadowhunter , respected among many , loyal without a fault , married the woman his father had arranged for ... all while harboring a dark secret. viktor had been experimenting with the shadow world from the moment he captured his first monster at 15 .

― with the valak wealth and estate , viktor had his own fundings to secretly experiment further where he also began studying magic and had learned to perform spells. When finding out his wife was pregnant , he started to sedate her without her knowledge and experimenting on her. Unfortunately for her , she would go through 6 still-born because of viktor. To prevent her from seeing what she gave birth to , viktor would always cast an illusion spell on her and midwives .

―  frustrated with each results , he managed to do something different. through a dark ritual , summoning of a demon and the lives of 7 shadowhunters , 7 vampires , and 7 newborns , alessa was born . A beautiful healthy baby girl , whom he became obsessed with . Many thinking that viktor simply had become over protective of . she was faster and stronger than other children and had to teach her many thing and experiment on her more before he could let his creation out in the world.

― unfortunately for viktor , alessa was never daddy's little girl . as if instinctual alessa was always afraid of her father and hiding behind her mother. something he did not like at all . Forcing his own child and secretly punishing her whenever they were left alone , by the time alessa was 8 viktor no longer waited for alessa to sleep or sedated her to experiment on her.

― alessa would later lose her mother by her own hands when they went on a family trip. Discovering the fact that her father had been putting blood on her drinks and food to prevent her from going hungry , satisfying her vampire side. Purposely leaving the two of them and coming back to a crying alessa and blood all over the cabin floor . Staging it as a vampire attack .

― for years her father would test her limit , how long it would take her to heal . Thinking himself to be a god for making a hybrid never seen or heard of. Immortalizing the valak bloodline but making sure he would make a name for himself.

― alessa knew she had to be careful , training and even as far as holding a lot back. by the time alessa turned 16 , she finally snapped. Killing him , draining him dry , after torturing him for a couple of days. wanting him to go through what she went through but knew it would never be enough . That summer , many believed viktor disappeared when alessa took a dangerous mission in his name and was sent to live with her grandfather in new york .

― Continuing her life alessa made sure at least be happy with him. Worked hard and made a name for herself without the use of her name. Considering the fact of what she is , alessa knew that not all downworlders were monsters. Most had lives and family like any other. Still, she was merciless when needed to be. working hard and having a firm head on her shoulder , alessa became a council member representing shadowhunters to discuss unity and to work together .

― and yet she still harbors a couple of secrets of her own . One main one that might get her killed is that fact that she's both shadowhunter and vampire. something unnatural and should have never been born.

―  not much is known about vanessa other than she's the owner of de'mor morgue and quite the playful little witch she is with a hint of dark humor and morbidity. her past is not something she talks about and you will get vague answers if you even try to dive into it .

―   In her early life, those who are close to vanessa would say she can be characterized as a playful and caring person. yet as beautiful and as kind as she can be , vanessa is capable of being just as cutthroat as the unseelies . those who anger her or witness it, knows her to be murderous by trade. Especially in her younger days , vanessa had her ruthless nature wrapped in her child-like demeanor .

― yet over the years she eventually became extremely apathetic. Beginning to feel her age. Beneath her juvenile exterior was an old woman who had seen and done many terrible things ( for those she cares for : she does what she thinks is right for her people ) and felt a deep loneliness . Which resulted in her mothering 4 children over the years that became her world .

―  Up until recently vanessa kept a low profile. Becoming a pathologist medical examiner and owning a morgue and funeral home in new york . Despite the shadow world having its problems and small wars , vanessa finds herself not wanting to get involved and never will/ After all , their conflicts had nothing to do with her and would just see how it all plays out . After all , some people just watch to watch the world burn or just see what’s to come

―  Vanessa is practically an invisible force in the city, only making her presence known when it’s needed. As apathetic as she is now, a vanessa does have a softer side which is rarely shown. Playful towards her lovers and people she eventually cares for. ( mainly her kids who no one knows they are her kids ) Despite this it’s best to be careful because when her patience reached its limit or her enemies were duplicitous, or people tended to be disrespectful ( towards her kids/those she love ) , they received no mercy or second chances .
