Imagine being a woman who’s attracted to women but you’re also attracted to men, it’s like … you half won half failed. My condolences about that weakness of yours, not all of us women win but at least you’re winning over straight women, loving only men as a woman must be … a burden

Being bisexual isn’t a weakness though….

I’m literally talking about the straight attraction when i write “that weakness of yours”, but then again most of the comments under this post are from people who didn’t understand anything and didn’t read the “half won” part, thus acting like bullies with no concept of what it is to criticise straight relationships.

Gay people are allowed to criticize the very thing that oppresses them and hold privileges over them (straight ppl/straight relationships), just like women are allowed to criticize men and just like poc are allowed to criticize white ppl. My post mostly was written with a feminist perspective, as women are losing so much when they are in relationships with men compared to when they’re in relationships with women (i’m talking about their freedom/bodily autonomy etc, not the social and societal privileges they gain obviously). I wrote with an elementary feminism 101 idea in mind but since the post was short - bc i know my audience would understand it just like that -but got surprisingly reblogged mostly in circles who don’t use their grey matter, the fact that it’s a feminist critic was overlooked and perceived as some kind of criticism of bisexuality, nah it’s the straight attraction that is criticized here, something that lots of women no matter their sexual attraction do already. I’m seriously disgusted by the comments i’ve read and definitely want (more than before) nothing to do with bi women (or straight ones for that matter) who aren’t at least a bit politicized when it comes to feminism.

As a bisexual woman, this was definitely biphobic and not feminist at all and just stupid. Sexuality is not a weakness. Women’s worth is never defined by their sexuality.

Don’t you understand that under patriarchy your freedom/autonomy/health is much more at a risk when you’re in a straight relationships ? It’s a basic concept of feminism, I know that my post may seem like some kind of shitpost because I never thought ppl would decide to act all serious on it bjt still ? Women who are politicised when it comes to feminism know that it’s a burden to be into men, I hear it from bi women and straight women everyday, this isn’t new.
