So HELLO AGAIN IT HAS BEEN A FEW WEEKS HASN’T IT?

It was so hectic trying to get everything ready for LVL Up Expo. BUT WE DID IT. AND IT WAS GREAT! Looking forward to next year :)

How has everyone been? I have been tired. I was in a coma all of yesterday recovering from this convention. But it was a lot of fun. Concerning Magical Girl Life - starting this week it will be updating every Friday Evening (however you all will still be getting the early pages on Mondays! THAT’S FIVE DAYS BEFORE IT POSTS. WOO)

I AM OFFICIALLY TWITCH AFFILIATE!!! I will be doing art streams a few days out of the week (and maybe some game streams as well so you guys can watch me fail at Overwatch and junk). Life is still hectic due to having two jobs and doing the weekly webcomic AND art streams for twitch - but I am working toward the goal of making it affordable to do just the ONE job by making my SECOND job my art life. Thank you again, everyone, AS ALWAYS, for being a patron. I appreciate it more than words can say. For those interested in my tentative schedule for art streams:

Hello everyone! My life is really boring/stressful! All I do is work! :’D And play Dungeons and Dragons every other week.

I HAVE been getting better and scheduling my time properly though! So it feels like I’m being more productive! I have even been starting to draw some One Shot comics again (something I haven’t done for months and months because I felt like I never had the time).  MONEY PROBLEMS ARE THE SOURCE OF MY STRESS. Isn’t it with everyone, though? My part time jobs either don’t pay enough or do not give me enough hours *sob*.

Don’t worry though! I’m on schedule to be releasing MGL weekly! I’m not sure how often one shot comics will be, but I will do my best.  If only I could A] get a job that offers full time or B] earn enough money with my art stuff that I don’t have to stress over it anymore OTL Either way THANK YOU GUYS AGAIN SO MUCH FOR SUPPORTING ME. I am doing my best to bust out new content for you all!

I will also try to be streaming more! We will see how it goes.

Hello again everyone! My week has been the same old same old imo. Except recently my group of friends and I have been having D&D sessions every Sunday for the past month! It’s only the starter campaign for 5e with some premade characters for us to get used to it. The starter story our DM is using is called the Mines of Phandelver. After MOP however we are going into original story and I can finally create the half-elf bard of my dreams! 

Other news in the life of me. Hum. I got a commission (which are few and far between ;-; ) I was commissioned and later found after I accepted payment that it was going to be a tshirt design. I would have charged more if I had known that. BUT I am using this as a learning experience to ask if it is for commercial use or not before starting -_- 

If you guys know anybody looking for commissions from an artiste such as myself please spread the word or send them my way! I could really use the extra $$ to live. Haha. ha :’D my cats have had one too many vet visits lately. My poor bank account.

Okay I have been pretty lazy about making these blog posts. Life things came up and job things sucking up time but that is NO EXCUSE for not trying to squeeze out some content for you guys!

So what is new with my life? Well, My pARTner Tacoroach and I finished selling at Anime Los Angeles Artist Alley and it was so much fun! It was so much fun to meet everyone as well. SHOUT OUT TO BAGGETTA FOR GIVING ME CASH CAT <3 Our next con will be LVL UP Expo in Las Vegas! Look forward to seeing us there :) Other than that it has been a struggle just busting out comic pages and content. Thanks so much for all of your support, it really keeps me going.

Hello everyone! It has been another minute! As you know I am back to that two job life and one part time job is swell and the other makes me want to cry! :’) I apologize for struggling to keep up with weekly blogs as such! Also the holidays happened and that is swell but being on vacation makes one not do ANYTHING. 

HOWEVER new news is that Tacoroach and I got to share a booth with Heroes for Sale at Great American Comic Con this past weekend! They let us use the space for free! Which was amazing. But the foot traffic for this con was akin to a ghost town. Terrible! Sales were minimal but we were very grateful for the opportunity. It’s a shame GACC didn’t try to advertise a bit more, I feel like people didn’t really know about it.

ALSO KURT MADE MY GREATEST DREAMS COME TRUE AND I NOW HAVE A NEW DRAWING TABLET! For those interested it’s specifically, it’s an XP-Pen Artist 22HD Having used a Wacom Cintique 22 I feel they are very comparable and the XP-Pen was SO MUCH LESS INEXPENSIVE. I hope to create much more fantastic art with it and to share it with you all!

As has been mentioned here and there Tacoroach and myself’s next con we will be selling at will be ALA in Ontario California January 26-29th! Hope to see some of you there :)

It’s been a minute guys! I am back to working part time at my other job, so back to two part time jobs! Hurraaaay sort of (except I really really hate my other job but you know gotta pay da bills). ALSO LATELY I have been REDRAWING the earlier pages of MGL while simultaneously working on future pages. I am trying to keep the quality of the art and the content of each page consistent! The first few pages redrawn are actually already up if you wanted to check it out! It’s a grueling process, and seems like it’s taking FOREVER. But heyyy.

I have also been trying to draw one big fanart piece each week to try and self promote. On top of everything else it has been very time consuming and exhausting and blah blah.

In other news, Ambur (Tacoroach) and I will be selling at Heroesforsalelv’s booth at the Great American Comic-con on December 3rd-4th! If any of you happen to be in Vegas around that time ^^; More announcements will probably follow on my twitter.

This blog post has been a bit content heavy, so I hope it makes up a little bit for missing last week! OTL

An update in my life - I am still down to one part time job, the struggle for money is real, but HEY AT LEAST I’M GETTING LOTS OF COMIC PAGES DONE RIGHT?

The spoopy season is upon us AND ALREADY GOING BY SO FAST I FEEL LIKE I HAVEN’T GOTTEN ENOUGH SPOOP. It will be over before we know it!

Here is the step by step of how I finished the loverly Ashlen witch.

Sorry for the late blog post this week guys! Here is some of the process art for my Mika witch :3

First the rough sketch!

Then start the colors! (Focused on the crystal ball here)

And finishing colors and highlights!

I thought I would use a different format laying these pictures out for you.

Firstly I do a rough sketch.

Then I do the line art!

Next I fill the entirety of the character with a solid fill.

Then the coloring begins! I don’t follow a particular order with color every time. But what is most important is getting the base colors down first.

I don’t follow this to a TEE obviously as you can see some blush added to her lovely cheeks and highlights on her hair. I also finished the cats details right away ^^;

And to finish it off I add the finishing touches, highlights, background, shadows, etc.

Well, updates, it has been officially announce on mine and Tacoroach’s twitters that we will be selling at ALA! Table info is to come when we of course find out D:

Other news! My Etsy shop is open finally! Got more mimikyu charms as well as other spoopy ones and the legendary birbs for the Pokemon Go Teams! My supply is limited so grab these while you can. It’s a 2 week wait to restock ^^;

I have slightly more time lately since dropping down to one part time job. Though I am significantly poorer and stressed, I do have more time and have finished MGL comic pages a month ahead of time so far! I will probably continue working on finishing pages so I will have a long queue. It’s good to have the pages all lined up rather than rushing to finish them last minute right??? Unlike these blog posts. Ha... haha.

When I am not working my part time job, working with Etsy sales, and working on my art in general, I HAVE BEEN ADDICTED TO MYSTIC MESSENGER OGOD. Thankfully it happens in real time so it’s not necessarily time consuming. More to follow on that later maybe?

TA-DA! More process art! Do you guys like these sort of things? I find I have been posting a lot of these process things.

FUN FACT I hate drawing hands but I have been attempting to get better by taking pictures of my own hands in various hand poses. I found that it has helped me out a lot.

As for Magical Girl Life I have been attempting to get as many pages done in queue as possible since I have slightly more time than normal. BEING DOWN TO ONE JOB YA KNOW (haha I’m so poor :’D )

It also gives me time to work on my Spooky Latte strips which I am NOT ready to share with you guys yet! But once I get a few pages together and posted I will be sure to post the link ^o^ It’s just a bunch of random strips that don’t have a particular storyline but has minimal continuity. It’s supposed to be spoopy and fun. We will see if that takes off.

MY ETSY SHOP is coming together. I am still awaiting the arrival of my charms, but I will also announce on my Patreon page FIRST as soon as I have the listings posted so you guys can get a first glimpse of my charms and merch and maybe buy things if you wanna :3 In short I will probably making a move of my main story (storenvy) to Etsy depending on how much more successful it is as my Storenvy shop does not seem to have much foot traffic :(
