“Hey, Aqua. How are you doing? Recovery going well?”
“I don’t know. I haven’t had a chance to catch up on any possible holidays they might celebrate here in this world. “ He moved towards the directions of the fireworks. “Maybe someone graduated something or it’s a birthday.”
“Oooh, birthday is a good guess! I’m guessing an engagement party.” He hummed as he folded his arms behind his head. “I’ve lived here a while and I’m still not entirely sure what holidays there are. I generally figure them out by when the streets are lined with festival decorations.”
“Alright alright. Let’s go take a look. Maybe they’ll have some decent food.” He rolled to his feet, chuckling at the blonds enthusiasm.
“If there’s one thing I’m sure they’ll have, it’s food. Probably better than decent food!” He hopped up and stretched his arms, almost vibrating with excitement. “What do you think they’re celebrating, anyway? Fireworks aren’t shot off for just anything.”
“Well last I checked Fireworks were supposed to be loud. Loud and bright.” He mused, watching the display. “No idea though. Someone must be celebrating something.”
“In that case, we should go check it out, don’t you think?” If fireworks meant celebration, then celebration meant happy people, and happy people usually meant party! “It’ll be fun! Let’s go, let’s go!”

“Sorry. I thought I sent Noodle to tell you where I was. House got too crowded. Needed space. Found a cute guy.”
“I see. I’m glad you’re okay, then.” He said, starting to card his fingers through Roxas’ hair. “To be fair though, I was gone for longer than I thought, so perhaps Noodle came by when I wasn’t there. Do you want to tell me about this cute guy though?”

Sleeping. Practically hangs a ‘do not disturb’ sign above him.
Casually going to sleep right next to him because both are sleepy.
Ok he had his fun running away. He's back and sleeping on Rosie in the garden, mom.
He was just about to go water the flowers in the garden when lo and behold a certain someone had returned to him.
“Roxas!” Ven drops everything, sliding to wrap Roxas in a tight hug, enough to probably crush him a little bit. “Oh, thank Light you’re okay! Do you have any idea how worried I was about you? At least leave a note or something next time, okay?”
Well there went his plans. The air turned ice cold at Ven’s demand, and Xehanort very suddenly realized that he was much smaller than he would want to be.
“Well isn’t someone being rude now.” He scoffed and shook his head, but one couldn’t deny one foot shuffling back, “You can’t even recognize who I am, don’t expect me to take advantage of such naivety.” Another foot scooted away, “I mean really, it’s almost sad how you can’t put the pieces together.”
But alas, it was likely he was getting smart now, so Xehanort summoned an ethereal blade and abandoned digging for information, “Lovely chat, but I must go.” He summoned a dark corridor, leaned back into it, and reappeared out of sight a few buildings down in an alley. Couldn’t get too far, Ventus could still prove useful.
Oh, he would let this one run. He wouldn’t get very far though, since once Ven said the word, the entire city could be looking for him. It wouldn’t be difficult, since it wasn’t as if he blended in well.
“To be honest, it was a real treat seeing you with a full head of hair, Xehanort.” He had all the pieces, but he preferred giving the others the benefit of the doubt. Doppelganger shenanigans were something he was surprisingly used to, having a set of them under his roof. “Do give your older self my regards, okay~?”
With a small wave, he smiled once more, watching as he ran off. It sent a strange sort of pride alight in his heart. For so many long years, he was the one running. But now, Xehanort was running from him. It was almost satisfying, though it wouldn’t be nearly as satisfying as crushing Xehanort’s bones into the dirt with his heel. That would feel just so much better.
But, now with the rest of his afternoon free, he set off towards the castle with a hum, deciding that perhaps he would stop by the cafe on his own before informing them that a small silverfish had gotten in the walls.
Dusks aren't usually associated with soft things, but its head is in fact softer than most pillows, so it's positioned the Nobody symbol right under his hand.
Ven smiled and pet the Dusk on it’s head. He’s seen stranger things around - Roxas usually has his samurai nobodies and there’s unversed practically everywhere handling household chores - but this Dusk is nice and surprisingly well-behaved. He will allow it.
“Did you get separated from someone, little guy? You’re more than welcome to stay here for a bit.”
… Xehanort blinked. Was he flirting with him now? Better shut that down quick.
“… No. I don’t particularly have any fondness for coffee.” He said. Ventus wanted to help him, how sweet. He chuckled to himself and shook his head, “Oh, I don’t know exactly if I need any help.”
He then gave Ventus a pointed look, “Though, honestly, I am a little lost. My friend told me to find seven lights? I believe he said it was a group of people who I should make my ally.”
If this was considered flirting, Xehanort probably didn’t want to see how Ven acted with Vanitas.
“Ah, no coffee? That’s fine. I’m more of a tea person myself, but I figured that coffee was usually what is considered polite.” He gave a shrug, though some small red flags went up at the sound of the seven lights. Of course, it didn’t show on his face, being that he still was bearing a smile, but his guard went up just a bit more.
Ven gave a small hum, fingers drumming on his arm. “Do tell me how you heard of that term.” There was no formalities, no overt kindness or politeness in his speech. He was older, and friendly, but by no means stupid. The only ones who should have known of the seven lights would be the lights themselves, or else the thirteen darknesses. And this young man seemed most likely the latter. “And your name. Now.”

Kairi couldn’t blame him. He’d been really worried about his friend, an she probably would have reacted similarly if it had been Sora or Riku who she hadn’t heard from in such a long time. ❛ It’s okay, ❜ She promised with a smile, ❛ You were worried, and I can see why. It took an awkward moment of silence before she realized he wanted her name, and she giggled softly, ❛ Kairi, ❜ She told him, nodding her head, ❛ And, of course. You deserved to know. She’s your friend. ❜
His easy air returned, and Ven made a small noise of enlightenment. “Ah, soyou’re the famous Miss Kairi I’ve heard so much about! The others in R&D tell me about you, and I recall a lot of warm feelings when my heart was resting within Sora’s whenever you were mentioned. It’s an honor to finally meet you in person.”
Well, now he had a name to a face, and what an adorable face it was.
“I’d love to go visit her right now, but I’m not really fit to go many places in my condition. The most I can do is the occasional off-world reconnaissance mission, but I just got back from one that took much longer than expected, so I’m trying not to leave my family right now. Please let her know that as soon as I am able, I will come and visit her.”
The gesture was unexpected, and she almost summoned her Keyblade just out of reflex. She managed to keep it at bay, trying to keep up with all of his questions. Her head spun, but she managed a nod. He was just worried about Aqua, that much was obvious.
❛ I-I’m not making it up. She’s back at the Tower- Yen Sid’s place, yeah. ❜ Had he really not known that she was back? She had been for a little while now.
“Ah--” He immediately let go, stepping back. He probably shouldn’t have scared her. Ven gave a small bow, taking even more steps back to give Kairi her space. “I’m sorry. I just-- I didn’t know. No one told me she was okay.
“I’m really happy to hear that.” Ven exhaled deeply, hand over his slowly relaxing heart. “I really shouldn’t have startled you like that. It was unbecoming of me. Thank you for telling me, um....”
