You know those movies about those little nerd boys who get with really hot girls, and those girls eventually learn to settle for a little nerd boy because he’s kinda nice sometimes? Propaganda.

Maybe that’s because that’s how the writer envisions himself vs the love interest. Maybe he’s not confident in how he sees himself, but views the person he’s in love with as so much better than himself. Maybe the love interest isn’t so beautiful to the rest of the world, and maybe he’s a decent/good looking guy. What we see in movies isn’t objective, it’s still through the eyes of the writer and director.

I do not idolize bernie and i still dont think radical transformation or restructuring will ever come from within the system, but i have hope for some harm reduction in the form of socialism lite and bernie clearly represents the mass discontent of the public beginning to wake up to the realization that capitalism is an epic fail for everyone… and thats a good first step
