character arc.

tragic hero arc we all know how this story goes. when it began, you were almost the perfect hero, but almost is never enough. you lacked introspection, or you were too stubborn or vengeful or reckless - as reckless as the world that helped to ruin you. you were not perfect, and that's okay. we knew the story ended in blood and we watched it anyway. we knew you would die in the end and we still couldn't help but love you, just a little bit. at the very least, you are more human than a hero could ever be.

His heart!!!!!!! Bon has faith in himself and takes comfort with how comfortable and at peace with his own self and identity he is. His heart and his emotions guide him. emotional truths are more important to him than anything and his own internal ones are really strong

GAH this is hard!!!! there's actually a FEW of those and he doesn't really resent any of them, at least not fully. I literally don't know what to pick for this sdfklghkljghsfdkljghdsf kill me

The first one was whatever the fuck happened to his parents don't ask me about that one I haven't sorted it out yet.

The second would be Ileana killing the wardens and setting the workhouse on fire. That was objectively good in his eyes and he stuck with her after. He'd been close to her before but after that they were a rascal duo charming miscreants.

The third was living in the attic of the theater, it's what spurred him to be a dancer and performer.

Fourth was being pressed into the Ripper Gang since that made his life Objectively Worse but also made him super good at kickpunching

Fifth was Whitebeard obliterating Jack's gang. With that and Ileana being missing it's what prompted him to go out to sea.

Sixth was being able to help Luffy escape from impel down which was a personal semi-redemption for him

I feel like I just recited his whole fucking backstory but just-- LIKE WHAT'S MORE IMPACTFUL??????? THE FUCKING PLACE YOU LIVE BEING ON FIRE WHEN YOU 11YO BC OF AN INSANE 8YO OR FUCKING WHITEBEARD KILLING YOUR EVIL BOSS???????????? HOW DO YOU FUCKING GAUGE THE IMPACT HERE????
