happy tomodachi eve!

tomodachi life has held a very special place in my heart for a long long time. i was around 6 years old in 2013 when it came out on the 3ds and i BEGGED my parents for it after seeing the ad on tv.

i was always a weird kid and i would constantly reset my island. i think my first island consisted of just my extended family. i had a fnaf island at some point.

i remember having to save up to buy the game a second time because my game cartridge wore out. (i was a stupid kid and would lick the game card thinking that would help clean it. it didnt.) i got the data corruption screen once and i was too scared to play the game for a while after that.

i picked up the game again back in like 2022 after getting my 3ds back from my sister in law (i lent it to her for a while after i finally got a switch in 2019) and made a new island almost entirely consisting of homestuck characters. (yeah i know) i fell back in love with it sooo fuckin quickly and playing the game ended up becoming basically a daily thing for me. i think ive amassed around 315 hours total on it at this point.

it kinda hit me hard today that wow! we're like actually getting this! thats crazy! but there was also kind of a bittersweetness where i realized i effectively have no reason to play the og anymore. like obviously its going nowhere but ive got this shiny new thing now! idk. its just a weird feeling but i wanted to give the 3ds game a proper sendoff.

tldr: i love this game dearly and i cant wait to force my mii to have babies with tenna deltarune.
