I had a dream that I was taking care of my boss’ infant son. He doesn’t have an infant son, really, but in the dream he had. The infant had a pet kitten. We were in the front law of Lincoln, but it didn’t look like Lincoln because the lawn was chemically green and painstakingly manicured. My boss’ son - I loved him. I held him in my arms and felt that I needed to protect him against everything bad in the world. Then we noticed that his pet kitten, a tiny little thing that I loved almost as much as the baby itself, was missing. And by the time we saw it trying to cross Mass Ave, my boss was running as fast as he could towards it trying to scoop it up before a car got to it. But it was hit by a car, and when my boss got back to the lawn and I asked him what he was going to tell his son, he told me that he’d have to head off to Petco and get another one. He couldn’t let his son see the kitten splattered and baking in pieces across the asphalt, he told me with a grimace.
