The girls are fighting 👀. Personally, I think they all have played a part in an abusive cycle and should've ultimately found themselves in jail a long time ago. But when it comes to who started it, hmm... What do you think? If I remember correctly Squidward was the one who was victimized first, so there's an argument that he's defending himself. But it's gone on for so many years, the horrible dynamics between these three and the crimes committed amongst them, that Squidward I think has lost some of his credibility, as it no longer feels like a matter of defending himself. Sometimes he genuinely seemed to take pleasure in random bouts of hurting SpongeBob or Patrick. Whether it's revenge or now a full blown sense of entitlement, Squidward has unfortunately reached a low point that could potentially be worse than SpongeBob's entitled attitude to commit crimes against him. Squidward never should've returned to his previous neighborhood after leaving Squidville, he should've looked for something that could satisfy his needs for a quiet, stable life that also offered a fluctuating environment so he wouldn't feel trapped in such rigidity. But he's become addicted to the toxicity.
